So if she actually won, would she go, "Ha! Fooled you Republican scum! I am really a Democrat in disguise! Bwaahhahahaha!" ?

Then again both Reagan and Trump used to be Democrats.

I'm always still in trouble again

Or is it just to keep another Republican from running...... I have no idea. She'd have to live with them what voted for her under false pretenses. But, then again, OCA doesn't seem to give a flying flip about her constituents.

Yeah, but it wasn't a switch flipped overnight, and it was because the Democratic Party had changed so much.

I don't see a grand conspiracy that the blog above does. I don't think there would be a need to elaborately set up a plant considering that the seat has a 0.1% chance of going Republican. You know how people who change their beliefs are often very eager and strident right away. Of course it's not wise to put such people in charge right away, practically speaking, just like how Paul said that new converts should not be leaders in the church.

Yeah, the grand conspiracy part to me is rather dubious. To me, she just bears watching - it will be interesting to see if she actually meaningfully can engage AOC in debate. She may be nothing more than the pesky fly who gets waved off.

Does one tweet really constitute "avid support"? In fact, if you look at it, the praise really just amounts to saying "she's better than our incumbent" ("Queens is headed in a new direction and it's time for new leadership").

And by the way, for all the attention paid to that one, singular tweet about Ocasio-Cortez... how about we look at some other tweets Murray sent out in the months before and after that tweet?

Several tweets stressing "Black people don't have to be Democrats" and defending Kanye West's conservative stances:
    https://twitter.com/ScherieMurray/st...54927601618945
    https://twitter.com/ScherieMurray/st...63019569614848
    https://twitter.com/ScherieMurray/st...74829429452801

Praising Trump (or at least his administration) for low unemployment levels:
    https://twitter.com/ScherieMurray/st...95591782604801

Applauding Trump meeting with Kim Jong:
    https://twitter.com/ScherieMurray/st...45602236592128

While about the non-political party of Juneteenth, note the tweet only mentions the Republica Party's recognition of it (this one was the tweet iimmediately before the AOC one):
    https://twitter.com/ScherieMurray/st...89348682371072

Promoting a meeting about Republican candidates (this was the tweet immediately after the AOC one):
    https://twitter.com/ScherieMurray/st...25334507122689

    Promotion of a pro-life article:
    https://twitter.com/ScherieMurray/st...28417591193600

Implicit promotion of the Republican candidate for Governor of New York:
    https://twitter.com/ScherieMurray/st...89743420055552

It's unusual for a Republican to praise Ocasio-Cortez, but this was right after Ocasio-Cortez won her primary and thus before she had gotten into a lot of the stuff people rail against her for. And honestly, people's viewpoints are more complex than our two-party political system gives them credit for. You can be an overall conservative while holding to some liberal ideas, or even holding strongly to some liberal ideas, as much as our political system tries to convince you otherwise.

As noted, a look at her Twitter should be enough to dispel these conspiracy claims (and I should have kept looking, I missed the tweet she gave in support of Kavanaugh's confirmation). But it actually gets worse! I sort of passed over it initially when looking over her twitter because I didn't realize exactly what it was at first glance, but she promoted some things from the New York Republican State Committee 29th Assembly District. So I figured she was a member of it, which of course would defuse the conspiracy claims. But, oh no. Let's take a look here:
    http://queenscountygop.com/district-leaders/

Scroll down to 29th Assembly District, and whose names are listed as the leaders of the 29th Assembly District section of the Republican Party of New York? Samuel Beloit and Scherie Murray.

But, hey. Maybe the Democrats were so darn determined to set her up as a plant to help Ocasio-Cortez win that they got her that position in the interim as part of this convoluted plan (https://web.archive.org/web/20180823...trict-leaders/ shows she had that position in August of 2018, but that was after Ocasio-Cortez's victory--that's the farthest archive.org goes back on that page and thus I cannot confirm how long she had that position). So I did a little more research to see how far back this went, and discovered that she's run as a Republican before... multiple times. For City Council in 2013, State Assembly in 2015.

Granted, in both of those she got squashed, as they're super-liberal areas where a Republican has virtually no chance of success (sort of like the current situation), but running such "hopeless races" to try to raise awareness or make a rhetorical point isn't really that unusual... and sometimes you're Doug Jones and the perfect storm of things happen together that allow you to win what previously was assumed to be a hopeless race.

In any event, let's review what has to be true for this conspiracy theory to be true. The Democrats, years before Ocasio-Cortez actually ran for office, were so worried that Ocasio-Cortez might lose re-election to a Republican in an extremely liberal district that they got in touch with Murray and asked her to pretend to be a Republican for the intervening time period so that in 2020, she could get the Republican nomination against Ocasio-Cortez and ensure Ocasio-Cortez's victory. And Murray, after maintaining the act for years, was so excited about Ocasio-Cortez's victory that she tweeted about it and blew her cover.

Good golly, did the author of the article Mountain Man posted do any research at all before he came up with this nonsensical conspiracy theory?
