  • On politics

Essence of politics is power struggle. That's it!! All about winning.

Sometimes fake appearance of niceness helps winning, cos lots care so so much about niceness. Often no. Libs already knpo this (antifa, Alinsky, 'Nazi Nazi Nazi', ...).

Now, supporters don't care that Trump not nice, not polite, not Christian. Why? Slowly they realise important thing is to be tough, and win!
Remember that you are dust and to dust you shall return.

There was time when less division in USA. 'Nice' worked!! So politicians nice. Mostly. In public.

Then people used to nice, think niceness is important. Nonsense, 'nice' is tool, not end in itself.

It's not so much that Trump's "not nice." And it's not that politics is all about 'winning.' You want to win in politics because you believe in your principles and that they will be best at improving the most number of lives the most amount. There's a conceptual content to it. It's not just a facade to cover a naked contest of power. And as far as Trump, I would say that people object to Trump because of what they believe he is doing to democratic institutions through his constant and shameless lying and authoritarian, narcisisistic and self-serving tendencies. It's that Trump meets your standard of what politics is: he will apparently do virtually anything to win.

Stop whitewash, lots of whining still about Trump not nice, not civil, unpresidential, etc.

Right!! But winning essential, for power to make changes. Evangelicals vote Trump even though obvious nonChristian, 'cos he is best chance for principles of theirs.

I just wrote it wasn't about those things. Did you read what I wrote?

You writing about process, style, superficial things. You're obviously part of the Cult of Trump, who's all about Ratings, Hair, make-up, How he looks. I'm talking about what he stands for, the things he's doing to our democracy. Yes, you may get a few short-term "wins," like judges, and the visceral sugar-high of his "taking it to the Libtards" but you should try to consider the longer-term consequences of your deal with the devil.

"Fake News" is any news he doesn't like, that doesn't flatter him, like any true autocrat. Mussolini did the same. Read history because you're condemned to repeat it. Remember that anyone he favors today he throws under the bus tomorrow
