I was pointing out that what you said was not a fair description of reality but a straw man. You or the reader might not understand the issue if I do not point that out. Pointing to such errors is never off topic.

I have not figured out your logic yet. Maybe something better than "straw man" would tell us what is on your mind.

I told you, the boy is a troll. It's generally best to simply ignore him.

If you can look at what has happened at Trump rallies in terms of inciting direct hatred of media reporters and people that have crossed words with Trump, then you clearly simply don't understand what inciting hatred is.

That is bad. No doubt about it. Can you say the same of Trump supporters that go after others in a similar manner? Say the Mitch McConnell supporters that held a cutout of Cortez:

I'll stand by my characterization of Trump as a catalyst for division, hatred, and chaos. He feeds off of it and stokes it. Hatred and fear breed hatred and fear, and it will infect and overcome both sides unless he stops - which he simply will not.

We need and deserve better than this.

Would you say the same thing about Obama? During Obama's seat, not only were there an unprecedented amount of mass shootings and not only did gun sales break record highs, but you had a number of sociopolitical movements and protests -- Tea Party, OWS, BLM. Other than the anti-war movements prior, I don't even remember that much sociopolitical ill sentiment under mad dog Bush.

I can honestly say I can NOT say the same thing about Obama. I'm not a fan of Obama, but I'd take him over Trump any day of the week.

Well, then people in here that accuse of TDS are correct, because you're not looking at things objectively. Hating Trump is one thing, I'm not crazy about the guy either, but you stating that Obama was less of a divisive president when there were clearly more movements and protests under Obama (from both political sides) than any other president I can remember is just your subjective view about Trump.

I guess you'll have to diagnose me with TDS as well, since I also agree that things were less divisive under Obama. In fact, I think that's so obvious I find it hard to understand how anyone can even make the claim.

I'd have to agree that things are more divisive under Trump, but that division has come largely as a reaction to Trump (whereas Obama was often referred to as the "Divider in Chief").

Obama didn't constantly use social media to call political opponents names.

But he often weighed in publicly on matters before the facts were in, with a very prejudiced perspective. He very calmly made things worse, along with his wingman, Eric.
