Our original plan was for me to move to the UK so RG could get his PhD at the university near where he lived. He wasn't able to find a job making enough money, even with them cutting him some slack for being on disability. So, he's here instead, about to finish training to teach high school social studies, and then we'll figure out the PhD at some point.

So yeah, same basic rule my friend and my sister came up against in their situations.

Back in the day, all you had to do to move to Australia was commit a crime.

Yeah, Australia closed that one down and are now sending criminals, who aren't Australian citizens, back to where they from. Our government has been complaining that it's unfair to the criminals for them to do that.....whilst ignoring we do the same....
