    Me too neither. Only snippets.

It's a classic. Some great quotable lines. Many memorable scenes. Disturbing and very thought-provoking for anyone with a functioning conscience.

It really is one of the better movies of all time.

And Godfather II is just as good, if not better. Godfather III...eh...has a couple quotable lines, but not really up to the standards of the previous films.

What sequels would you suggest that are up to par of the original?

I like three - it was about trying to find redemption...

You mean, in film generally? Well, as mentioned, Godfather II, but off the top of my head, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Trolls 2, Rocky 4, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness, Spider-Man 2, Hellboy 2, The Dark Knight, From Russia With Love (also On Her Majesty's Secret Service, The Living Daylights, GoldenEye, and Casino Royale, which are the only Bond films I really like), Mad Max Fury Road.

I agree. I think it's gotten a bad rep over time, and it's not as good as the first two films in my opinion, but it was needed to wrap things up, and come full circle.

I'll guess I'll have to watch that sometime when Mrs CP isn't home - she doesn't like that kind of film.

I have to disagree, I have been a Bond fan since I was a kid in the sixties, and I think Skyfall was the all time best Bond film. And Craig the best Bond.

I knew my Bond picks would be controversial. I just like the Bond films where James Bond actually is affected by the scenarios he's in, and acts more human than the super-spy stereotype. I LOVE Casino Royale, because we saw a very vulnerable Bond who was conflicted about his role, who was still learning the ropes, and who was deeply in love. I loved that this was a new Bond for a new age that was completely unlike the Bond of yesteryear. Skyfall sort of dashed all of that by returning the franchise to its roots. It's so much more in the vein of Sean Connery's Bond, with a love interest whose fate he's practically uninterested in, and comic strip type villains with ridiculous master plans. It's a big departure from the grounded direction the franchise seemed to be going with the first two films (and I say that thinking Quantum of Solace was a bit crap).

Also, I know that On Her Majesty's Secret Service is probably one of the least liked Bond films, but I really like George Lazenby. The film has a lot of great humor, and actually develops the character a bit (James Bond was married?!). There's a fantastic documentary on Lazenby called Becoming Bond (2017), and it's a totally crazy story. He really should have been in more films, and it sucks that he wasn't. Roger Moore is my least liked James Bond mostly because he seems more of a parody of Bond than David Niven did in his version of Casino Royale.

I agree with you about Casino Royale, but I loved Skyfall, going into Bond's past and finishing in the Highlands of Scotland, the death of M, and the introduction of Miss Moneypenny.

I thought I was the only one who liked George Lazenby! So the new Bond is going to be a woman? I don't like that - it doesn't fit...
