I'll ask Sparko if he agrees to adding such a swap to our 2020 presidential platform

Well my plan is to just swap the populations of southern California and Hong Kong.

        This accomplishes:

        1. The socialist liberals get to live in a socialist paradise like they want
        2. The Hong Kongians will get to live in a Capitalist society like they want
        3. The Chinese get rid of their dissidents and get new enthusiastic citizens.
        4. California gets rid of the snowflakes and can be welcomed back into American capitalist society.

I think he said it as a joke, or on a whim, but now that the media has gotten a hold of it, he is milking it for all it's worth and trolling them.

Although Greenland does have a heck of a lot of gold and minerals. Maybe he his looking to buy it personally. Trump Mines.

See this would make more sense to me. China has already made an offer, but they concluded it was too expensive to run any decent mining operation there.

Yeah I watched one of those Gold Mining reality shows about some American investors trying to mine in Greenland. It only lasted about 2/3 seasons before it appears Greenland took away their permits. But they didn't get much. A few rubies. But you could tell how hard it would be to mine there commercially. Very hostile and rugged. Landslides and avalanches everywhere.

                    Ah here it is:

I think you can watch some episodes.

                      Thanks.

I think they mentioned that global warming was making the riches of Greenland more accessible as the glaciers receded. If so, Denmark/Greenland will be one of the few nations to actually benefit from Climate Change. Maybe one day Denmark will be richer than the middle east.

From what I have heard, Trump was interested in Greenland because his library had grown so big that he needed way more space for it.

And it’s an embarrassment to evangelical Christianity that there appear to be so many who will celebrate precisely the aspects that I see Biblically as most lamentable and embarrassing." Um, if the glaciers recede won't Denmark be flooded? You know, rising oceans and being on a peninsula?

There's a plan for that. They're gonna take all those tins that hams and cookies come in, and slide them under Denmark, and float it up a little. A rising tide lifts all Denmark.

My understanding is he is interested in the US acquiring it. Which makes more sense than for China - our support costs would be much lower.
