  • The Five on Fox

I usually catch a bit of the Five when I get home from work.

I have noticed that they are usually talking about the same topics we have been talking about on Tweb. Today they are getting ready to talk about the PC renaming of "criminals"

Since we have been talking about it first, they are obviously getting their topics from us! Which means one of you are probably one of the Five.

So fess up! Mountain Man, are you Greg Gutfeld? Seer, are you Jesse Waters?

    Admit it!!!!

They were even making the same jokes about what to name things!

It happens every day! We talk about something, then the Five does. They are using Theologyweb as their talking points.

Did they use my joke about liberal nuttiness putting the Babylon Bee out of business? It was the best one in the thread.

Source: San Francisco Changes Term 'Convicted Felons' To More Politically Correct 'Elected Officials'

In a move to make sure criminals are treated fairly, San Francisco has instituted a policy of referring to "convicted felons" by the much more politically correct term "elected officials."

"These convicted felons are finding it harder to advance to higher political office when we keep bringing up their criminal activities," said San Francisco Mayor London Breed. "We must ensure they get a fair shake at ruining even more people's lives when they run for Congress, Senate, or the White House."

The city released a guide with ways to refer to politicians' activities in a more positive manner:

                • Stealing money is to be referred to as "taxation."
                • Having an affair is to be referred to as "providing women opportunities for advancement."
                • Taking a bribe is to be referred to as a "desirable exchange of money for principles."
                • Starting a deadly war on false pretenses is to be referred to as an "environmental depopulation initiative."
                • Kidnapping parents over truancy laws is to be called a "free parental vacation program."

The new language is to be used by all city officials, San Francisco residents, and the homeless population to ensure politicians aren't offended by any mention of their criminal activities. Anyone failing to abide by the law will be sentenced to continue living in San Francisco.

OK Today's test - let's see if they discuss this on the the Five this afternoon...

                  ==========
Socialism Themed Monopoly Divides The Internet

Hasbro, the makers of the iconic family game Monopoly, released a new satirical socialist-themed spin on the old classic, drawing vocal reactions from the left and the right.

Monopoly is a vastly popular game that challenges players to engage in pretend capitalism, purchasing the most “property” as they seek to monopolize the board. Hasbro recently released a spinoff version of the game called Monopoly: Socialism, which mocks the anti-capitalist economic system. A professor from Rutgers University went viral on Thursday when he purchased the game and posted a series of 20 tweets critiquing its negative depiction of socialism, creating a flurry of online debate.

Many conservatives chimed in to the discussion, taking advantage of the moment to discuss some of socialism’s failures. Author and Townhall senior columnist Kurt Schlichter highlighted how many people have died under redistributionist forms of government.

                  and

Monopoly, like socialism, wants to take your money

the game isn't making fun of voting or environmentalism, just wokeness and a deficient economic system. It's like socialism with an understanding of human nature thrown in. According to the game’s description, you can “Contribute to the Community Fund…unless you choose deplete it. Consider the best interest of the group…unless you want to forget that and just do what you need to do.”

It’s only not funny if you don’t understand the history of socialism, which apparently some people don’t. “Get ready for laughs as the twists and turns of life put a damper on working toward a shared, utopian society. Cooperation isn't always what it's cracked up to be,” the game’s description reads.

This isn’t the first time Monopoly has made money off a lampoon. Last fall, it released Monopoly for Millennials, with the tagline, “Forget real estate. You can’t afford it anyway.” Some millennials, who had as much of a sense of humor as disgruntled socialism apologists, were not amused.

I want that game. It will go perfect with the other half dozen monopoly editions we never play (mainly so the kids don’t tear them up).

And when you pass Go, you get a $50 "Living Wage" instead of $200.

Sometimes I catch a few minutes of it at night when flipping channels but I haven't watched a whole show.
