    That's fair.
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

    • In the proceedings today, the Democrats keep repeating "overwhelming evidence" and "absolute proof" and a "clear and present danger", but the American public isn't falling for it.

Now, there's a woman babbling about "Trump invited the Russians to interfere with our elections...."

The Senate Minority Leader accidentally told the truth while crybabying in the hopes of violating 200 years of impeachment precedent during Trump’s upcoming senate trial.

        Schumer confessed:

So, to engage a trial without the facts coming out is to engage in a cover-up. To conduct a trial without the facts is saying: we’re afraid, we have something to hide. To conduct a trial without relevant witnesses who haven’t been heard from, to just rehash the evidence presented in the House just doesn’t make any sense.

So here’s Schumer openly admitting the impeachment case coming from the U.S. House is one “without the facts.”

        Well, no [expletive].

        • Wow, Henry Johnson (D-GA) just said that more Americans support this impeachment more now than at any time in history.

He must be looking at one of those outlier polls.

Meanwhile, apparently the focus groups told the partisan hacks, "just keep repeating 'clear and present danger' over and over".

            Gotta love the buzzwords.

PS - How long before JimL starts repeating it?

And, all of a sudden, the liberals are in LOVE with the Constitution!

I think he must have reverted to the FREE version of the liberal talking points, because he always seems to be about a week behind.

wow, she missed "clear and present danger"!

ETA: Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) made up for it... checking all the talking point boxes, and passionately declaring "clear and present danger". The other buzzphrase -- "No one is above the law!"

So why don't they show us this "overwhelming evidence" if they have it? So far they talk about it but have only shown us unsubstantiated rumors.

And Trump is a "clear and present danger" ...to the democrats in the coming election.

This is kinda fun, because everybody has to keep their comments brief and succinct -- it makes it easier to catch the buzzphrases and focusgroupspeak.

And, it's kinda like the preacher's sermon notes where he wrote in the margin "weak point - yell louder". I think the Democrats are trying to win by emotion rather than fact.

                        • Democrats Given Instruction: ‘Don’t Cheer,’ Act ‘Solemn’ During Impeachment Vote

                          theater.jpg

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has attempted to paint the poorly-polling impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump as “solemn” and “somber,” done out of duty to the Constitution, despite leading Democrats openly admitting that the president must be impeached for political reasons.

Keeping to the appearance, Democrats were reportedly given the instruction to avoid “cheering” and to “keep it solemn” during the impeachment vote on Wednesday.

“House Democratic leaders told caucus members not to cheer or applaud when today’s impeachment vote totals are announced, and Democratic members described the day as sad and solemn,” Axios reported Wednesday.

“One Democratic member from a Trump-won district said the instruction is: ‘Don’t cheer, keep it solemn,'” the report added.

And it went even further than that. Rep. Pelosi and other Democratic women wore black to signal just how “solemn” the occasion of partisan impeachment without an alleged crime actually is.

“Note: [Speaker Pelosi] is wearing black. One of her colleagues told me several of the female Democrats did that intentionally to signal it is a somber day #impeachment,” posted CNN reporter Dana Bash on Wednesday.

ETA: Madeleine Dean (D-PA) is giving a very emotional speech accusing the Republicans of "refusing to mouth" certain words.

I think Dean's words may come back to haunt her --- in accusing Trump of involving foreigners to get involved in our elections, she demanded "Only AMERICANS should determine our election outcomes". OOOOOPS!!!!

The inquiry is where they gather their evidence and the trial is where they present it. It is not an opportunity for a "do-over." As for 17 "witnesses" nearly all of them admitted that they had no personal knowledge of the matter and were merely repeating the equivalent of water cooler gossip -- what they heard from someone who also heard it from someone etc. You cannot substitute quantity for quality in cases like this. A pile of garbage remains a pile of garbage no matter the size. Finally, not one "witness" was able to point to any criminal behavior or an impeachable offense committed by Trump when they were asked.
