    That's fair.
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

    • In the proceedings today, the Democrats keep repeating "overwhelming evidence" and "absolute proof" and a "clear and present danger", but the American public isn't falling for it.

Now, there's a woman babbling about "Trump invited the Russians to interfere with our elections...."

        • Wow, Henry Johnson (D-GA) just said that more Americans support this impeachment more now than at any time in history.

He must be looking at one of those outlier polls.

Meanwhile, apparently the focus groups told the partisan hacks, "just keep repeating 'clear and present danger' over and over".

            Gotta love the buzzwords.

PS - How long before JimL starts repeating it?

And, all of a sudden, the liberals are in LOVE with the Constitution!

I think he must have reverted to the FREE version of the liberal talking points, because he always seems to be about a week behind.

wow, she missed "clear and present danger"!

ETA: Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) made up for it... checking all the talking point boxes, and passionately declaring "clear and present danger". The other buzzphrase -- "No one is above the law!"

So why don't they show us this "overwhelming evidence" if they have it? So far they talk about it but have only shown us unsubstantiated rumors.

And Trump is a "clear and present danger" ...to the democrats in the coming election.

This is kinda fun, because everybody has to keep their comments brief and succinct -- it makes it easier to catch the buzzphrases and focusgroupspeak.

And, it's kinda like the preacher's sermon notes where he wrote in the margin "weak point - yell louder". I think the Democrats are trying to win by emotion rather than fact.

ETA: Madeleine Dean (D-PA) is giving a very emotional speech accusing the Republicans of "refusing to mouth" certain words.

I think Dean's words may come back to haunt her --- in accusing Trump of involving foreigners to get involved in our elections, she demanded "Only AMERICANS should determine our election outcomes". OOOOOPS!!!!

The inquiry is where they gather their evidence and the trial is where they present it. It is not an opportunity for a "do-over." As for 17 "witnesses" nearly all of them admitted that they had no personal knowledge of the matter and were merely repeating the equivalent of water cooler gossip -- what they heard from someone who also heard it from someone etc. You cannot substitute quantity for quality in cases like this. A pile of garbage remains a pile of garbage no matter the size. Finally, not one "witness" was able to point to any criminal behavior or an impeachable offense committed by Trump when they were asked.
