Were they protesting because they don't agree with climate change, or were they trying to convince people that climate change is a thing.
It's not real clear which side everybody is on.

Fed-up London commuters physically take back the train from climate protesters
(bolding mine)
Climate change activists in London are causing quite a disturbance with their demonstrations, and it appears people have had enough of it.
Protestors for Extinction Rebellion — a group that has clashed with police over the last several days — tried disrupting commuter train service in London on Wednesday morning. Gathered crowds, most of them just trying to get to work, were not having the public displays of lunacy. Some took to physically removing protesters from the tops of the train cars.
Like many videos out of the London protests, videos of the train incident are really quite astonishing. In one video two protestors are trying to yell at a crowd from the top of a train, but they are greeted with objects being thrown at them. One of them is physically pulled down, and the other is chased across the top of the train by another frustrated commuter who eventually wins out and forces the man to the ground. The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

The protestors were part of Extension Rebellion.
The extinctionrebellion.us site said they want the Government to "tell the ruth about the climate and wider ecological emergency." But I don't think this site to expect the government to tell everyone that the global warming threat is state-sponsored fraud.
They want "legally-binding policies to reduce carbon emissions to net zero by 2025" I not sure if this policy will be undone after plants start dying for lack of carbon dioxide.

Even as someone who thinks climate change is something that requires action to be taken, this just baffles me. Trains are among the most environmentally friendly means of transportation we have period.

The actions of commuters who dragged Extinction Rebellion Tube protesters from the roof of a train are being investigated by the police as it emerged one of the activists is a Buddhist teacher.
British Transport Police have made eight arrests after protesters climbed on top of roofs of Underground carriages on Thursday morning.
But those on the platform blocked from going to work who "took matters into their own hands" could be investigated by police, who said their actions were "unacceptable".
The other odd thing is to complain about people trying to get the train moving again. Somehow the protestors were acceptable in their behavior but people needing to get to work was unacceptable. if there was an issue about "taking matters into their own hands," how come there wasn't better response time by "authorities?"
We could say that the action of the people was to protect the protestors from falling off when the train is moving.
This post is mostly sarcastic.

good news!
word has it that some disoriented people were stuck on the roof of a tube train. compassionate commuters helped them get out of a potentially life-threatening situation -- had the train abruptly continued its travels.
these people who were rescued from the train's roof came back to their senses and thanked the commuters who saved them. The rescued travelers are also asking that more people be ready to rescue disoriented people stuck in similar awkward situations.Last edited by mikewhitney; 10-17-2019, 02:06 PM.
