The issue I was exploring was not exactly the definition but what the concern is. The person I spoke to seemed to think that the lack of attention to the OT law would make you antinomian.
I am not sure what clarification is needed, or why this other person's thinking is relevant to mine. Paul is quite clear that OT law is not normative for Christians. In my estimation, which seems to be the overwhelmingly predominant view, antinomianism is the idea that actions do not matter, so there is no need to reform one's life in accordance with moral law; belief is sufficient for salvation.
Enter the Church and wash away your sins. For here there is a hospital and not a court of law. Do not be ashamed to enter the Church; be ashamed when you sin, but not when you repent. St. John Chrysostom

No such thing will ever occur.
Matthew 25:31-46 and Luke 13:22-30 put the lie to your assertion.

Atheism is the cult of death, the death of hope. The universe is doomed, you are doomed, the only thing that remains is to await your execution...

    Faith without repentance is meaningless.

Thanks. This info is quite helpful. I agree with your observation about Paul and the OT law.

I was listening to part of a series of videos talking about antinomianism and good works. I disagreed with at least the impression generated from the idea that good works are in accord with the law of God. The statement might be acceptable if the idea is that good works don't act contrary to the wisdom within the law. I would say that good works are not listed in the OT law ... and are only pointed in the right direction by the loving God and loving your neighbor. Of course, we are best pointed in the right direction by Christ in us, yet it takes additional provisions from God to stay on track.

What is your definition of "faith"?
"I am not angered that the Moral Majority boys campaign against abortion. I am angry when the same men who say, "Save OUR children" bellow "Build more and bigger bombers." That's right! Blast the children in other nations into eternity, or limbless misery as they lay crippled from "OUR" bombers! This does not jell." - Leonard Ravenhill

We were created in the image and likeness of God. That image is damaged from the Fall, but it is still there. Your view verges on Gnostic, not Christian.

To believe just means to accept that he has given you eternal life -- i.e., the very thing you deny.
