Why do you think that DT Jr. is one of the two main suggestions and Trey Gowdy, Ben Shapiro, Ron Cruz and Mike Pence are not?

Well, one could psychoanalyze about right-wingers having a deep-seated psychosis where they wish to have an absolute monarch to obey, and that they wish the heir of the monarch to inherit the throne.

I note the last Republican president was the son of the previous Republican president. And also that Demi is busy defending the idea of having an aristocracy. Given the aristocracy was kinda the original swamp in Western history, that ties nicely back to the 'drain the swamp' theme for maximum hypocrisy and irony value. The fact that a commentator on Fox News recently described impeachment as 'regicide' also ties in nicely.

What makes you think of monarchy right now? This is a weird idea I've heard .... well more that Trump wanted to be a dictator. But I haven't heard any evidence to support this.

I've mentioned in a thread recently that I would not want any President in office who is family member of a previous President. The current swamp probably results largely from Clinton's firing of people in key positions so he could put his own people into these positions. I heard that 95% percent of US workers (in DC?) contributed to Democrat candidates. That alone wouldn't qualify as swamp creatures -- but when they act like Comey and justify Hillary's crimes, then we see some of the swampy behavior.

There isn't supposed to be great differences between Democrats and Republicans ... but some groups seem to be promoting hostility ... and they are promoting it against conservatives. So the party differences have been radicalized.

For one, it's overlooks the fact that the corrupt FBI leaders (Comey, Page, Strozk, McCabe) were all fired.

The other part is that openly, Trump has been largely on the defensive. Until the failed coup of the Mueller investigation, and the dud that the Ukranian call turned out to be. Only after the Mueller in, when the Swamp's ammunition is expended, did Trump start going on the offensive. Now we hear that Barr is turning the probe into a criminal one, and allies (Italy, Ukraine, Austalia) are collaborating in investigations.

There's also the fact that the damnable bureaucracy is set up such that it's almost impossible to get rid of the various odious toads and lizards. It's pretty much become a de facto fourth branch of government with no real accountability.

This is a lesson that history teaches over and over as various leaders in a wide assortment of countries have made efforts to reign in the bureaucracy only to see it continue to expand.

And the last democrat candidate was the wife of a previous president and democrats are excited about the idea of Michelle Obama running. Guess liberals love their aristocracy too.

It has? I'd say that most people see Pence as the front-runner for 2024.

I can't speak for anyone, but it seems to me that the post suggesting Don Jr. would garner amens due to the evident humor/shock value, not because people really think he would be a good candidate.

There is always an elite class, and they tend to pass power to their offspring. I merely recognise this near-universal fact.

Only seems that way because you don't think Trump is good. Norrin, MM, and I think Trump is good for many reasons, and that Don Jr would also be good for similar reasons.
