Are the news organizations owned today by the same groups that owned them 50 years ago?Last edited by JimL; 11-11-2019, 06:16 PM.

Originally posted by JimL View PostThat's how it works mike. The House has the hearing/inquiry, then they file articles of impeachment, or not, depending on the testimony, and then they pass it off to the Senate.

Originally posted by Starlight View PostDems have little control over the process once it is in the Senate, giving Republicans the ability to sweep the evidence under the rug before it is heard by the US public, and then vote to let Trump off. Dems presumably believe that if the public was aware of all the evidence against Trump the Republicans would have to take the charges seriously and be properly accountable to their voters with respect to the Senate vote to let Trump off or remove him from office.
These discussions continue to be senseless. We are working from different ideas that we see as truthful. Plus, we disagree on whether the communists or the republicans have better plans to improve the country.Last edited by mikewhitney; 11-11-2019, 06:58 PM.

Originally posted by JimL View PostYes, they absolutely do have to make it public, because ultimately it is the people who will determine guilt or innocense. The republican Senate will, as starlight pointed out, most likely sweep the whole thing under the rug, unless they hear from their constituents to do otherwise. The people need to see for themselves, make up their own minds, it's their government, your government, if you can keep it.
If this is what you like, then enjoy the show. it sounds like you don't even need to see the show. you already decided that the Senate will sweep everything under the rug.

But, sometimes the politicians can make it seem like you have made your own decision.

If you're susceptible to that sort of thing, yes.
There's been more than enough evidence made public already that I don't really need to watch the hearings to make up my mind, but I will watch anyway. The majority republican Senate will sweep it under the rug, if they think they can get away with it politically.
