It would be almost impossible to catch him without his eyes bugging out.

I wonder if he has a thyroid condition which can cause that particular symptom. But then there's the fact that his appearance matches his lunacy, so who can say.

I not sure what you're talking about. The problem with Hunter Biden is that he and his cohorts were in contact with the Obama state department asking them to put pressure on the Ukrainian government to end a corruption investigation into Hunter's company, and then Joe shows up and pulls his "If you want this half a billion dollars then you'll fire the prosecutor who's causing problems for my boy" routine.

Personally I don't think Hunter did anything illegal taking that job -- even if he knew for a fact that the only reason he got a job that he had absolutely no experience with that paid (IIRC) at least twice these sort of board positions normally dole out was because of his relationship to then Vice President Joe Biden. It might have been horrible optics politically speaking but as the link above reveals nothing new for the family.

                • Trump carries on criming even while he is being investigated.

Donald Trump has insisted that the US military presence in Syria is “only for the oil”, contradicting his own officials who have insisted that the remaining forces were there to fight Isis.

Trump made his remarks while hosting Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, just over a month after the Turkish president launched an offensive into northeastern Syria, which has been formally condemned as destabilising by state department officials.

Sitting alongside Erdoğan, Trump contradicted his own officials and the Republican leadership on a range of issues, most importantly on the US military mission in Syria.

Following Trump’s earlier insistence that his administration was solely interested in “keeping” Syrian oil, the US military deployed mechanised military units to oil fields in the east of the country.

However, seizing or benefiting from oil on a foreign territory, without permission from the sovereign authority, would be a violation of international law. Several US officials had sought to interpret the president’s remarks as the US meant to meaning that the denying Isis access to the oil.

The US special envoy on Syria, James Jeffrey, said on Monday: “US forces in north-eastern Syria are there under an authorisation to fight terrorism, specifically to ensure the enduring defeat of Isis. That is their overall mission.”

“There are certain secondary missions that flow from that, such as working with local partners the SDF [Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces] in securing the oil fields to ensure that Isis or no other potentially hostile force obtain them,” Jeffrey said.

On Wednesday, however, Trump repeated his intention that the US should take possession of the oil in the region.

“We’re keeping the oil. We have the oil. The oil is secure. We left troops behind only for the oil,” Trump said.

It's about as corrupt as Trump's nepotism and as much a non issue. Makes you wonder why Trump bothered to mention it in the phone call.

The bewildering part of Trump is why his supporters aren't more critical of his twin shots to the foot that brought us to these impeachment hearings. Without his demand for Comey's loyalty and subsequent firing, without Ukraine debacle he'd be skating to the next term. Look at how much energy he wastes defending himself.

By demanding Comey's loyalty then firing him and then doing the shadow diplomacy thing, he manslaughtered himself. Without all that, he'd be untouchable. Annoyingly narcissistic but untouchable. You should be outraged he's wasted so much time defending himself and making the people who voted for him defend him.

Board positions commonly don't require specific experience in the particular industry the company is working in, but commonly want people with more general experience running companies and being on the boards of other companies. Hunter had that. That was the general field he was working in, and so seems to me to be perfectly adequately qualified.

The owner of this particular company was at the time looking for famous people to be on his board and paying over-the-odds for their star-power, not because he was trying to solicit favors, but because he wanted his company to look stable at a time when the country of Ukraine was in political turmoil due to Russia biting chunks out of Crimea, and he decided to try to make his company look stable by filling his board with famous people. He was able to recruit people such as the ex-President of Poland, Hunter Biden etc, to give his company board some star-power, just as the average company might employ celebrities to appear in their ads.

So I see zero issue with Hunter taking the job. He was qualified, had done similar jobs before, and it was an appropriate job for him, and the reason the owner wanted celebrities was reasonable, not for political favors. Subsequently his father ended up taking actions that hurt Hunter's company, when VP Biden / American policy makers insisted that the corrupt Ukrainian investigator who had dropped the probe into Hunter's company be replaced with someone non-corrupt who would restart the probe. So even if anyone had hired Hunter hoping Hunter's father would give them favorable treatment (and there's zero evidence whatsoever this was their motivation), exactly the opposite ended up happening.

P.S. I don't support Biden and don't want him to win the primary. I think he was a particularly poor VP, and would make an especially poor president as he is obviously suffering negative effects from old age, and has a terrible (right-wing-leaning) voting record and policy proposals. But that's separate to issues about whether his son did anything wrong, and as far as I can see, there was nothing improper with regard to his son's conduct.

You can't seriously believe that. The Democrats were determined to impeach and remove before he has even sworn in, and any excuse would do.
