Sure. I've only read a few articles on it, including this one from '84:

Do you agree that Clinton contributed to the problem?

      Look at my signature*.

I think the liberals, with good intentions, decided that it was more important for the mentally ill to be "free" than to be "imprisoned", so I think a lot of this homelessness is the unintended consequence of "good intentions".

It could at least make a dent.
Obviously a western 'living wage' is too high to compete with the Chinese, good troll. The only way to even things is massive tariffs, which some "stable genius" statesman has being enacting on some trade.

Brainbender: the problem of evil. What "solution" caused that problem?

Yup, that should help American soybean farmers.

That businessman has got to be trolling you. Let him be the first to sink money trying to turn mentally ill homeless druggies into an efficient work force capable of competing with the Chinese, paid the same low Chinese wages.

I love how Trumpers convince themselves that every stupid impulsive decision POTUS makes is some genius troll designed to pay off in the end.

Neither can we tax Chinese imports without equal retaliation cancelling out our moves. What a crazy ridiculous idea to think China has less leverage than us.

Another 'squirrel!' If you seriously thought this 'homeless and manufacturing' idea was good, you are in no position to determine what's a stupid impulsive decision, and what's a genius long-term move.

Neither can we tax Chinese imports without equal retaliation cancelling out our moves.
You can't say that without closely examining the market for specific industries. For the car industry, how many US-manufactured cars are bought by China compared to vice versa? If there's a huge imbalance there, the situation is not equal and 'equal retaliation' can't happen for that industry.

In any case, it's clearly something beyond your ability to judge.

extreme poverty/Homeless---is becoming a problem that is contributing today to making people less humane....for example
the design of hostile architecture...(prevents shelter to the homeless---making cities and its residents cruel to human suffering)
                        https://www.vice.com/en_au/article/k...r-the-homeless
(some quotes from the linked article)
"City governments, private businesses, and individual entrepreneurs across America have been using loud music—intentionally or otherwise—to discourage loitering or deter sidewalk sleepers (or both) for years. Spaces like the Port Authority bus terminal in New York City, a San Francisco Burger King, and a Modesto, California, 7-11 (among other locations of that franchise) have been accused of leaning on classical music to that end. Some venues have played straight-up disturbing high-pitched tones in what critics said was an even-less disguised policy of driving those in search of sleep away."

"Even horticulture can be part of the plan: Last week, the LA Times reported business owners were increasingly restoring to tactics like planting cactuses and thorny bushes as the city's homeless population soared."

"Among other, non-musical tactics, businesses have sometimes turned to spraying water on people sleeping on sidewalks. The Strand bookstore, an iconic New York City landmark, got flak from local press in 2013 for allegedly turning on its awning sprinklers to deter the homeless. One San Francisco church regularly doused people sleeping around the building for years—at least until it drew media attention."

"...wealthy residents from San Francisco to Boston use money and political action to block affordable housing projects and emergency shelters in their neighborhoods, cities are also responding by upping the number of ways to criminalize homeless people. One study from the NHLCP found that among 187 analyzed cities, the number with blanket anti-camping policies on the books rose 69 percent between 2006 and 2016, while the number with regulations on camping in public spaces rose about 50 percent."

"There are even laws against helping homeless people eat: a study from the National Coalition for the Homeless found that between 2013 and 2014 alone, 21 cities took action to pass laws or other measures restricting food-sharing. Last year, 12 volunteers, including a 14-year-old, were charged with misdemeanors in California while handing out food and toiletries in a public park, and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, cops cited a 90-year-old World War II veteran twice in one week in 2014 for dishing out hot meals to the homeless. "If you want the bears to go away, don't feed the bears," a Cincinnati police captain said in 2013 of that city's ordinance."

In some countries, a person cannot work unless they have an address---thus---ridiculously, a homelesss person cannot find a job unless they have a home!!! In other places...homeless people have no place to safely store their belongings such as blankets, warm clothes, food etc because if they leave their belonging unattended on the streets, it can get stolen or taken away as trash...so they cannot "go" to work.

Because the U.S. has been in so many wars, there is a special problem---" In April 2019, the U.S. had a homelessness population of over 630,000 with 67,000 being veterans of the armed forces. "

In the list of the top 5 most homeless cities of the world---2 are in the U.S.---New York and L.A. with approx 60,000 homeless.
                          https://www.arcgis.com/apps/MapJourn...86d89809fbf287

(Among the homeless are also minors and solutions for them are different to that of able-minded adult homelessness....)

One solution is to empower the homeless to come up with their own solution....such as self-governing homeless cities...
                          https://invisiblepeople.tv/city-sanc...homeless-camp/
                          https://www.realchangenews.org/2019/...an-self-govern
"The most overwhelming finding, however, was the unrelenting sense of pride, community and empowerment reported by residents. In a focus group, one resident described how radically different Nickelsville is from other shelter models: WeÂ’re kind of running
the house, not the house running us. WeÂ’re so used to rules running us.

Nickelsville contends homelessness is a result of the maldistribution of power and wealth and views its organization as a way to build the political power of homeless people. An alternative to charity models, Nickelsville provides a way to bring agency, dignity and
skills to people experiencing homelessness. Though self-governance may not be for everyone, it allows for people experiencing homelessness to have stability and feel ownership over their lives while waiting — often for years — to find permanent housing. This
cannot be replicated at traditional shelters."

Other solutions are to make more humane architecture and design ---particularly of public spaces, and to have more humane laws that encourage people to help others.....

some people are working on ideas to design cities for women...
                          https://www.citylab.com/transportati...ty-women/6739/
...and this can be applied to design cities for more caring and humane living solutions for people of different needs and circumstances....
