Complete and utter lie. The $100 billion figure was well-known and discussed in the media. Anyone can look up 'paris accord 100 billion'.

      $100 Billion
"To help developing countries switch from fossil fuels to greener sources of energy and adapt to the effects of climate change, the developed world will provide $100 billion a year," NPR's Christopher Joyce reports. But that amount is identified as a "floor," not a ceiling. "Developed countries won inclusion of language that would up the ante in subsequent years," he explains, "so that financial aid will keep ramping up over time."

It is theoretically possible that someone in the world, someway, somehow, there is a person who pretends to be an environmentalist for financial interest. But, as an environmentalist myself I have never met them, nor ever heard of them. Nor can I easily imagine how that would even work - the incentives are all wrong to be in it for the money, because there isn't money in it
The green energy industry is worth billions. You're a liar and complete fraud, no wonder you're an enviromentalist.

The $100 billion figure seems to refer to a third climate agreement that I wasn't aware of until I read your post and did some digging: The 2010 Green Climate Fund.

It isn't part of the 2015 Paris Agreement. The US withdrawing from the Paris Agreement does not itself affect the Green Climate Fund, because the two are not directly connected. But Trump did also announce that the US would cease making any contributions to the Green Climate Fund in addition to pulling out of the Paris Agreement. Obama apparently contributed $1B to it in his last year in office.

The green energy industry is worth billions.
Tech entrepreneurs considering trying to make a buck out of starting a solar-panel manufacturing company aren't your average greenie environmentalist.

It's literally insane to think the average person who is concerned about the environment is only concerned about the environment for the money they think they can get out of pretending to have such a concern.
"I hate him passionately", he's "a demonic force" - Tucker Carlson, in private, on Donald Trump
"Every line of serious work that I have written since 1936 has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and for democratic socialism" - George Orwell

Have you actually read the agreement? Ignoramus or fraud, it's hard to tell. Article 9.1:

Developed country Parties shall provide financial resources to assist developing country Parties with respect to both mitigation and adaptation in continuation of their existing obligations under the Convention
          https://unfccc.int/files/meetings/pa...t_english_.pdf

          Then read the Fund's webpage:

It was set up by the 194 countries who are parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in 2010, as part of the Convention’s financial mechanism. It aims to deliver equal amounts of funding to mitigation and adaptation, while being guided by the Convention’s principles and provisions.

When the Paris Agreement was reached in 2015, the Green Climate Fund was given an important role in serving the agreement and supporting the goal of keeping climate change well below 2 degrees Celsius.
          https://www.greenclimate.fund/who-we-are/about-the-fund

The GCF is clearly one of the main means in which financial transfer was supposed to occur from developed to non-developed countries. How are you an environmentalist and ignorant of all this? How can you say "It doesn't require anyone to pay anyone else any money." Are you for real?

I still remember your tears about Trump withdrawing from the Paris Accord, and you didn't even know that it involved billions of dollars of wealth transfer per year? Are you for real?

Tech entrepreneurs considering trying to make a buck out of starting a solar-panel manufacturing company aren't your average greenie environmentalist.
What did you say? "It is theoretically possible that someone in the world, someway, somehow, there is a person who pretends to be an environmentalist for financial interest." Now admit that the theoretical is also actual, there are some of them, and we're done here.

A lot of it is definitely profit, and it would be either naive or dishonest to deny that, but most use it just to virtue-signal. Some of it is used as a means to wealth and financial gain (wealth moguls/corporate/wallstreet) like Al Gore and his Goldman Sachs cronies. Others use it for job security (climate scientists and other government funded folks). And then the vast majority (including and especially celebrities) use it to show how self-righteous they are and how evil those are who don't share their passion, and like most religious pharisees in past history, most of them are utter hypocrites.

Btw, not only are countries falling short of their obligations to the Paris Agreement, but even if those expectations were met it too would fall short of even being effective. Gee, who couldn't see that coming.

That would not actually have anything to do with the point I made. The impact of the US leadership being sucked into the climate oriented conspiracy theories on the worlds response to climate change is significant. Likewise the potential if a US policy and leadership that respected the science and recognized the problem.

What is really sad is the extreme difficulty of getting people with both the knowledge (capacity to understand and recognize the science for what it is) and the wisdom to react appropriately into office. We either end up with a complete scientific illiterates like Trump, a person who not merely disrespects knowledge and experience, but who is the poster boy for dunning kruger in terms of his belief in his own grasp of the issues, or people that do not understand that feeding 10 billion people and giving them a reasonable quality of life does not allow for a instant elimination of carbon emissions.

I would blame a lot of that on the ignorance of the larger public on scientific issues coupled the complete lack of a conscience in our political and business leadership.

No, blame it on the socialist tendencies of those writing the rules.

It's rather ironic that the lessons of history teach us that what she describes is the result of the very policies she wants to see implemented.

The science is irrelevant. The majority of people believe climate change is a problem. So all the smugness about scientific ignorance and the droning on about big oil conspiracies clouding scientific fact means nothing. The goals are unattainable, both economically and sociopolitically. That's what you don't want to admit. World leaders know this (especially Macron), but they too won't admit it.
