I'm not blaming Tassman. I'm trying to give him a friendly post where he can express what he feels justifies the statement he made.

Thing is, this is what is driving worldwide policy on climate change. So I guess I just don't see the point of having a discussion about "sensible" environmental solutions (something we probably all agree on) outside of the mainstream argument, especially considering that the mainstream view is what many "skeptics" essentially oppose

There is nothing in the bible that says we can't destroy our present civilization or even bomb ourselves back to the stone age. Civilizations have fell before and will again. I believe God will prevent us from going extinct and will always have a remnant that will survive until the end times prophesied in the bible.

These little right-wing media outlets are infamous for just plain making stuff up and reporting total untruths they have fabricated. There was an admission this week that Infowars made up stories, and a court decision a few weeks ago fining an anti-abortion group for making fake videos, to mention a couple from the last few weeks, never mind the last decade.

It's gotten to the point where I'll automatically assume by default for any story that a small right-wing media outlet is presenting, that they are lying. It's possible that's an unfair assumption and that many of the stories they cover truthfully, but I'm unlikely to see their run-of-the-mill stories where their coverage is no different to other outlets - people only tend to show me their stories when they are 'reporting' something shocking or significantly different to mainstream sources. My experiences in such cases have been that the small right-wing outlets are always wrong or lying in such instances.

So basically, I agree with the people being interviewed in the video: I see zero reason to believe the interviewer when he asserts the pictures are from Greta's car and when he gives me no reason to think that he has any way of knowing which car Greta's was, and every reason to think he made it up. He gives zero evidence, other than his word, and I tend to assume he's vastly more likely in general to be lying than telling the truth.

Tassman - what are you basing this on? A full mellt of antacrtica? We've seen that in the last 60 million years. The planet survived, life survived. I don't think we have the power to produce a full on runaway greenhouse like exists on venus. A full melt is 80+ meters of sea rise, and yes that would be bad, but there is still plenty of land area left. The temperatures in the Eocence were about 8.0C above what we have now and this was after the Dinosaur extinction, so we know mammalian species can and did survive that. Mankind has plenty of resources to survive that - not that it would be pleasant. So could you explain what you see as the potential if we do nothing or next to nothing and why you are seeing these outcomes from that potential change. It's not that I don't thinkg climate change is serious or will produce bad consequences, but you are taking it way beyond that.

I don't know. She was here in October and went on to Vancouver following, so it wasn't really winter here yet. I don't know anyone who has a Tesla to even ask how they manage.
