Jim, that's just nutty -- you can't find any account of Nixon's impeachment (attempt) that doesn't start with Watergate.
Because there was an actual crime that was absolutely undeniable.
This is why you have to keep pretending that Nixon's impeachment (attempt) wasn't triggered by an actual crime. A REAL crime. A crime nobody disputes happened, or what it was.
No account of Richard Nixon glosses over the fact that his downfall began with the actual crime of the break-in. An actual REAL crime, not an alleged one.

My whole discussion is answering JimL's nutty use of the Nixon impeachment (process) to compare with Trump's. I'm simply pointing out that in the Nixon situation, there was an actual crime that nobody was disputing that triggered the impeachment process.
But, if somebody makes an allegation against me, I'd demand that they prove it. Actual facts, not just a bunch of hype and circus. The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

If, indeed, Trump's "crimes" were "far worse than Nixon's", then your puppetmasters wouldn't need a room full of lawyers to try to help them con the American people into believing it was a real crime. The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

On Saturday, July 27, the House Judiciary Committee approved its first article of impeachment charging President Nixon with obstruction of justice. Six of the Committee's 17 Republicans joined all 21 Democrats in voting for the article. The following Monday the Committee approved its second article charging Nixon with abuse of power. The next day, the third and final article, contempt of Congress, was approved.
The impeachment process was in full swing when Nixon resigned. Perhaps you're confusing the impeachment process in the House (which was happening) with the trial in the Senate - which never happened, due to Nixon's resignation DURING the impeachment phase."He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose." - Jim Elliot
