  • False Idol — Why the Christian Right Worships Donald Trump

    Very interesting article:

It is rather long, so I would suggest you read all of it. It as based on the experience of someone who, like myself, grew up in a Chrstian family and is now seeing some of the basic values of the church contradicted by the church itself.

And as history will certainly tell and has already told nothing could be further from the truth than what Jeffress said:

And a shocking number of facts are given:

And it reminds me of how many twebbers treat good old Ox when I read this:

And it feels like the tweb-home when you read this:

      I don't worship Donald Trump.
Some may call me foolish, and some may call me odd
But I'd rather be a fool in the eyes of man

Me neither. Heck I don't even LIKE him as a person. I have no idea if or what kind of Christian he is. But he does stand for conservative values which align pretty well with Christian values. And the economy is doing good. My retirement fund has grown at least 30% since he took office and unemployment is way down.

Also, the liberals treated Obama like he was the Messiah too.

I guess getting "attacked" online is better than actually getting physically attacked in the real world just for wearing a MAGA hat.

              Charles,
I'm sorry you had a bad experience or interpretation of Christianity when growing up.

You'd likely find the same numbers for other previous presidents because it's a very short step from "it's God's will" to "God wanted this" for many people.

I've posted a couple things on that which included the above magazines covers.

So, it seems, basically, some of you are back on the whataboutism track again and fail to see how that only strengthens the points in the opening post.

Sorry. I didn't see anything of substance. You're response here has left me more confused what your point of discussion is about.

Maybe there was something other than liberal disdain for Christians that was mentioned somewhere?

No Charles, no Christian here worships Trump. Who should we have voted for - Hillary? Second, Trump did exactly what I voted for Him to do - 145 originalist judges on the lower federal courts and two on the Supreme court. The courts were my main concern.

Actually, no one thinks Trump is being worshiped. You're confusing this with political tribalism, and it's occurring on both sides. However, though political debates have become heated, I don't recall any critics of Trump actually getting physically attacked in the streets like Trump supporters have. When that happens, then maybe a thread about it would be necessary.

I can hardly listen to him make a speech. There is something about him that grates on my nerves -- even back in the days when he was making Pizza Hut commercials. Still, he's a lot more bearable than even one hideous Hillary cackle smiley shudder.gif.

Don't confuse "Christians" with the "Christian right". You missed that point in the opening post and thus you fail to adress the actual point.
