  • Brazilian Christians boycott Netflix over 'Gay Jesus' Christmas film

Netflix shouldn't be getting a cent of Christian money.

I was on the verge of canceling Netflix anyway.

There have been several series my wife and I would start watching, thinking, "this is good - very few cuss words, good message, etc...." then Season 2 is released, and suddenly characters who never swore before are routinely using the F bomb....

We've pretty much settled on Amazon Video (since it comes with Prime) and Hulu, which gives us our local news stations, as well.
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

Worth mentioning in a sermon, maybe.

            We cancelled Netflix in August.

Reminds me that NASA had up until recently carefully rewritten transcriptions whenever the astronauts swore, replacing them with other sentences.

This conversation reminds me of an anxious discussion with a fellow catholic. He wanted to now if he was sinning by buying Coca Cola? Why? Because Coca Cola in the US support Planned Parenthood.

I still have too many shows on Netflix that I watch to spend time sending them an insignificant message. I will however leave a bad review.

I don't put a whole lot of stock into online petitions because they're not worth the bandwidth they take up but if there is a more general organized boycott movement in Brazil, I find that interesting. I know organized Christianity in the southern hemisphere tends to be more intense and they generally take their faith more seriously than we do here. I think we have a lot to learn from them.

I think it's wise to pick your battles but this one seems worth picking.

A beautiful part. I got a book about that moment I read a long time ago. They even shared a small communal meal, with bread and wine.

My favorite part is a little known, but long discussion about whether a half-eaten can of tuna found floating in the LM module by astronaut Alan L. Bean was edible. Everyone got involved, the engineers, the doctors, the leaders, even Bean's own wife weighed in on it.

He later said he already eaten it by the time they got him the answer, but he didn't tell them.

                              I forgot all about that.

Like I said - I did IT work for Deke Slayton - way back when PC computers were still pretty new. Deke bought a half dozen motor homes, and we were outfitting them as mobile computer labs. Just as we were ready to launch these things, he was diagnosed with brain cancer, and passed away in 1993. I love his stories --- him and Col. Walter Cunningham would keep us entertained for hours.
