Had they tried to fight for every witness and every document in the courts, which they began to do, they knew it could go on for a year or more before reaching a conclusion. Being that there was an upcoming election, they realized they just didn't have the time to play Trumps game. Besides that, are you aware that Trump has blocked every single witness and every single document from the investigation? I know, that doesn't suggest to you anything.
