  • Trump doesnt like spin ...

So in yet another bizarre display, Donald Trump once again shows he really, really doesnt like spin ...

    https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2019...th-wind-energy

ning windmills. So how much money does the man have invested in big oil and coal would be the question here. Or is it just that the democrats stand for moving to alternative energy sources and so, naturally, he's against it. After all, if a Democrat is for something, it MUST be bad.

Seems the real answer is he sued Scotland when they tried to put windmills too close to one of his properties. So here he is using the office of the president to air his personal beef with windmills. Once again, against national interests.

Who cares if we need alternative energy sources. Who cares about the environment. He doesnt want his property values messed with and he's willing to use the office of POTUS to help make that happen.

What was that? The president is abusing the power of office again to service his personal goals?

    Nah, he wouldn't do that....

My brethren, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism. James 2:1

If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not  bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is worthless James 1:26

This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; James 1:19

ok - noted. Funny how we process names and don't necessarily associate real meaning to any part of them

Imagine how much flour we could have if we have millions of windmills

There are 11x8.8MW turbines visible from the Trump course, each rotor is 164m in diameter. Some days, the blades disappear into the clouds.

Donald Trump’s family firm is refusing to accept a legal bill worth tens of thousands of pounds after he lost a lengthy court battle against a windfarm near his Aberdeenshire golf course, according to the Scottish government.

A Scottish court ruled in February this year the Trump Organization had to pay the Scottish government’s legal costs after his attempt to block an 11-turbine windfarm in Aberdeen Bay ended with defeat in the UK supreme court in 2015.

The Scottish government has said Trump’s firm has refused to accept the sum it had put forward or reach an agreement on costs, so the case is now in the hands of a court-appointed adjudicator.

Worth watching his wind ramble in full just to get a sense of the crazy:

            Highlights include:

"I never understood wind. Yet I know windmills very much. I've studied it better than anybody."

"tremendous fumes, gases, are spewing into the atmosphere [from their manufacture]... a tremendous, tremendous amount of fumes and everything! You talk about the carbon footprint! Fumes are spewing into the air, right. Spewing! ...it's going into the air!"

"You know we have a world, right? The world is tiny compared to the universe."

"You want to see a bird graveyard? Go under a windmill someday. You'll see more birds than you've ever seen ever in your life."

I've been to the base of wind turbines (I doubt Trump has), there were no dead birds. It's estimated that buildings with glass windows kill vastly more birds than wind turbines ever do.

Worth noting also that the carbon emissions involved in building wind turbines aren't particularly large and are recouped in about 6 months of operation of a turbine.

This is not Trump's first foray into the subject. Previously he's claimed that wind turbines cause cancer.
"I hate him passionately", he's "a demonic force" - Tucker Carlson, in private, on Donald Trump
"Every line of serious work that I have written since 1936 has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and for democratic socialism" - George Orwell
"[Capitalism] as it exists today is, in my opinion, the real source of evils. I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy" - Albert Einstein

Nothing more than NIMBY. Just like how the Kennedy's kept a wind farm being erected near one of their compounds. Or like how someone may argue for the need for more oil refineries but oppose one being built across the street from them.

I'm always still in trouble again

So back to the good old defense of "someone else did it too".

I was going to add "I can already sense Chuck fumbling with the door latch about to stumble out of the car" but decided at the last moment to refrain.

The point is that this is a nothing burger. A nontroversy. And I used two examples to illustrate that fact, but to absolutely nobody's surprise you are incapable of grasping that.

So, back to the good old ad hominem when it is pointed out that your first point was based on relativism. Since your line of reasoning was based on the false idea that right and wrong depends on what others are doing you have not established that it is a "nothing burger". You haven't even started to demonstrate a line of reasoning that is convincing. And when pointed out you go straight for the personal attack. I couldn't ask for better proof that your case is very weak.

Even more ad hominem and pure claims I don't understand terms.

Must be frustrating to not be able to properly support your claims. So far you have claimed what Ox presented was a "nothing burger". But your claim was based on a false idea about right and wrong being dependent on what others did. When that was pointed out you have now had to go for personal attacks two times.

Must be frustrating to have to fight with nick names, pictures and personal attacks instead of proper arguments.

We went through your kindergarten understanding of things like relativism and you've done nothing to improve on that.

All you contribute is whining. I made my point. I supported my point and you did what you do best.

So, back to even more adhominems and loaded language like "kindergarten understanding". Here is IEP's definition of moral relativism:

Moral relativism is the view that moral judgments are true or false only relative to some particular standpoint (for instance, that of a culture or a historical period) and that no standpoint is uniquely privileged over all others. https://www.iep.utm.edu/moral-re/
You continuosly refer to what others have done when other point to Trump. Thus you are implying that it somehow makes it better, less significant or ok, or a "nothing burger". Read the definition again and see how it all fits in rather perfectly.

Whining? I am simply pointing out that what you provide as "support" is based on wrong assumptions and personal attacks, childish pictures and the like. There is no whining in that and it clarly shows that you cannot rely on anything of substance in these discussion. I do not have a problem with you showing it so obviously to everyone. I would find it interesting if you could use proper arguments instead.

                            Merry Christmas.

As I said, we've already shown that you blabber incoherently about things you don't understand so we don't need to keep demonstrating it (although you seem determined to do so ) and I "properly support[ed] my claims" at post #7 which is what triggered your little whine party in the first place.
