Yesterday, President Vladimir Putin of Russia called President Donald J. Trump to thank him for information the United States provided that helped foil a potential holiday terrorist attack in Russia.

Both Presidents committed to continuing counterterrorism cooperation between the two countries. The Presidents also discussed the state of relations between the United States and Russia and future efforts to support effective arms control.

Putin's people had warned the Obama administration a couple of times about the Boston Marathon bombers. Apparently Obama was too busy getting hissy about Crimea or something.

All we know is that he was on the phone with his good buddy Putin. What they actually talked about is anybody guess, and he'll probably never release the transcripts of his talks with Putin. My guess is that Putin was giving Trump his next assignment. Perhaps he wants him to lift those severe Obama sanctions placed on Russia for their seizing of Crimea and their continued attack on Ukraine.

Trump wanted to nullify the Obama sanctions, and he only signed on to new sanctions (enacted by congress, not Trump) after 6 months of congress pressuring him to do so. And he only did that after after speaking to Putin. They have to make it look good you know.

Russia warned the FBI that the guy was a radical Muslim, that's all, and in fact they refused to give any other info on him. And Obama had nothing to do with it. Why on earth would you defend Putins' trustworthyness anyway.

You should have realized by now that Trump isn't pressured into anything. People try to manipulate him but he goes off in his own direction. The new sanctions were an attempt to sell Europe gas and oil from the US, cutting Russia out of the deal.

And he only did that after after speaking to Putin. They have to make it look good you know.

Like when Trump made it look good by blasting Syrian airstrips? Twice? Which made Russian troops look like wimps, having to get out of the way. Russians were there "protecting" Assad. And like when Russian mercenaries attacked our base in Syria and they were all slaughtered?

Yeah, Putin and Trump are making it look good.

Wouldn't that be nice. He keeps his conversations with Putin close to the vest though I'm sure. He even snatched the notes out of the transcribers hands once to hide what the two of them spoke about.

I'm not defending Putin's trustworthiness. I am saying that Trump isn't Putin's puppet. The idea is preposterous - and every fabricated attempt to prove such a thing has been exposed as lies. Trump has done more to undermine Putin than Obama ever did: Withdrawing from the Paris Accord, withdrawing from the Iran Nuclear deal, bombing Syria, blasting Russian mercenaries, sanctions against their pipeline ... add them up and it's Obama that looks like Putin's pal. Like the "red line" he backed away from (maybe Obama got a call from Putin and said 'No, Barrie, you don't want to go there').
