So the Trump administration’s decision this week to expand the use of land mines has baffled and angered humans rights and arms control groups, which say the decision further imperils anyone who may encounter the weapons.
 “

It’s incredibly troubling we’re having such a step back in acceptable international norms,” Rachel Stohl, an arms control expert at the Stimson Center, a nonpartisan policy research center, told The Washington Post on Saturday. “This is one of the most inhumane weapons that we know of.”

Here are the facts: Donald Trump broke the law when he withheld hundreds of millions of dollars in military aid from Ukraine to pressure them to interfere in the 2020 election.

He abused his power, endangered national security, and undermined the integrity of elections. That’s why the House was forced to impeach him. And that's why, among many other reasons, he should have been removed from office.

The Senate had a constitutional duty to hold a fair trial that considered all the facts, allowed first-hand witnesses to testify, and put the interests of the country ahead of Trump. It chose not to do this.

      • A very stupid lawyer:

“However you are to define high crimes and misdemeanors, there is no definition that includes disagreeing with a policy decision as an acceptable ground to removal of a president of the United States,” said Trump attorney Jay Sekulow.
Is that what the Repubs thought the case was about? - “a policy decision” ?

So we have a no-witnesses, no-trial, and Repubs that didn’t know what it was about.

Who was supposed to interview witnesses and bring forth evidence to debate?

As usual, your trolling is refreshingly obvious.

In case the point went zipping over your head, the lawyer in question is referring to the specious "abuse of power" charge, brought because the Democrats in the House (most of them) didn't like one of Trump's policy decisions.

                False.

                1) In fact, the president has some discretion when it comes to releasing funds even when they've been allocated by Congress. In fact, he can choose to not release them at all so long as he informs Congress before the deadline. In Trump's case, he did release the funds before the deadline, so it's ultimately a moot point.

                2) Trump never said one word to Ukraine about the 2020 election. His focus was on past wrongs committed by Quid Pro Joe Biden.

That's precisely what this case is about. Witness after witness during the inquiry says they were never concerned that Trump had broken the law. They simply disagreed with his approach to foreign policy.

False. There were 18 witnesses who testified to the House --of course Schiff only let us hear from 17 of them because number 18 fully exonerated the President.

Sorry, I'll take the GAO's decision that the Impoundment Control act was violated over your opinion that it was not. Besides, we know Trump only released the funds, when he released them, because he got caught.

Then why did he wait 3 years before undertaking his secret investigation demand when Biden announced his intent to run? Besides that, if he honestly thought Biden should be investigated there are legal channels through which to do that and extorting a foreign country by means of withholding appropriated funds and risking national security, aiding a common adversary in the process, is not the legal way to do that.

Good news is displaying this level of ineptness and incompetence helps fence sitters make their choice and makes liberals more likely to stay home.

A non-binding opinion from a group that regularly accuses US presidents of breaking the law. So what?
