This is a thread relaying facts people should be aware of, not a place to recount one's emotional distress over said facts couched in "holy" language. I'm not worried, but whether I am or not is not relevant or important enough to relate on a public forum.

But then you are only here to hate and accuse. You are not here for discussion. Reminds me of some other accuser in the bible.

You remind me of this accuser. Plot twist, he worshipped Baal and blamed men of God for his problems.

Relaying facts? Coronaviruses have been around forever and known since the 1960s. This just happens to be a particularly bad one. And the media is picking it up as a good scare story for ratings. Just like they did SARS (another coronavirus by the way) and the Swine Flu, and other such things.

You are the one who started with the accusing right in your very first opening post.

It figures that no one here has mentioned this by now. Your heads are even more in the sand/up your rears than I thought. Prepare.
Then you jumped on anyone who posted here, like Esther.

You just came here to pick a fight.

On late Saturday evening (Feb. 1), Tencent, on its webpage titled "Epidemic Situation Tracker", showed confirmed cases of novel coronavirus (2019nCoV) in China as standing at 154,023, 10 times the official figure at the time. It listed the number of suspected cases as 79,808, four times the official figure.

The number of cured cases was only 269, well below the official number that day of 300. Most ominously, the death toll listed was 24,589, vastly higher than the 300 officially listed that day.

Moments later, Tencent updated the numbers to reflect the government's "official" numbers that day. Netizens noticed that Tencent has on at least three occasions posted extremely high numbers, only to quickly lower them to government-approved statistics.

Netizens also noticed that each time the screen with the large numbers appears, it shows a comparison with the previous day's data which demonstrates a "reasonable" incremental increase, much like comparisons of official numbers. This has led some netizens to speculate that Tencent has two sets of data, the real data and "processed" data.

Some are speculating that a coding problem could be causing the real "internal" data to accidentally appear. Others believe that someone behind the scenes is trying to leak the real numbers.

However, the "internal" data held by Beijing may not reflect the true extent of the epidemic. According to multiple sources in Wuhan, many coronavirus patients are unable to receive treatment and die outside of hospitals.
    For whatever it's worth

Darfius, why aren't you worried about the regular flu? It has killed a lot more people than the coronavirus.

Here are the stats for last year's flu season in the USA alone:

In total, the CDC estimates that up to 42.9 million people got sick during the 2018-2019 flu season, 647,000 people were hospitalized and 61,200 died. That’s fairly on par with a typical season,

We don't know how many people the coronavirus has killed, because China's numbers are acknowledged to be underreported and their "official" tally has been proven to be nothing more than a result of a model which was charted and predicted by a source I included in one of the earlier posts. They don't even have enough test kits to confirm who has it.

But my earlier posts and sources have already explained why this poses a far greater threat to the average person than the flu. It is far more contagious, far more lethal if contracted and because none of us has been exposed to it and therefore have no level of herd immunity, everyone is at increased risk, not just the elderly and the very young as with the seasonal flu.

This World Health Organization classified epidemic is far more comparable to the "Spanish flu" (though it began at a military base in America after forced vaccinations), which killed 20-50 million people, but because travel is far easier these days and because--again--this is far more contagious and lethal, the numbers will likely be far higher. China has already locked down more of their citizens than live in the entire United States, something they would not do for the seasonal flu and something which has already sent noticeable shockwaves through the global economy and which will continue to do so.

This is why I have such impatience for you and others here. Your cowardice and self-centeredness is posing an actual threat to people who may look to you for an idea of how to respond appropriately to this. You are the blind leading the blind. You shouldn't open your mouth unless you have a command of the facts and others' best interests at heart.

Selected moments from the Event 201 pandemic tabletop exercise hosted by The Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security in partnership with the World Economic Forum and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation on October 18, 2019, in New York, NY. The exercise illustrated the pandemic preparedness efforts needed to diminish the large-scale economic and societal consequences of a severe pandemic.

How are you responding to this issue? How do you suggest we respond? Where does one draw the line? Wear a mask at all times, quarantine? Do/should Christians respond differently to non-Christians?
