Commentators I've heard who are familiar with drug abuse seem to be pretty much 100% sure that Trump abuses 1 or 2 prescription drugs. They point to his regular sniffing, and his alternating between being full of energy and almost sedated as being the major symptoms.

I doubt it would matter though if Trump released a signed statement tomorrow saying he does this. His cultists will support him regardless.

At this point he's basically been given the green light to recruit as many other countries as possible to interfere in the 2020 elections. He got away with Russia and now with Ukraine. Getting away with something twice is pretty strong incentive to do it a third time.

Paying for it is legal, getting it free isn't.

That's how US campaign finance law works.

Money (or favors equivalent to money) donated to a campaign are tightly monitored and regulated, and can only come from Americans, and have to be under a limit. But campaigns themselves are allowed to pay US or foreign firms or people to do work for them. Doing opposition research is common, and it's common and legal for campaigns to pay firms to do opposition research. But a campaign isn't allowed to accept a gift of unpaid-for work from a company or entity doing opposition research.

It's kind of amazing that we're... how many years now?! ...into these foreign campaign finance scandals and you don't even understand the basics of US law on the subject.
