    Amy Klobuchar

She's hanging in there. I am starting to hope she is the Democratic candidate. She seems to be pretty moderate and isn't happy with how left the Democratic party has gone.

    She supports the second amendment:

Amy Klobuchar has long been a champion for commonsense gun safety legislation. Born and raised in a state with a tradition of responsible gun ownership, she understands that Second Amendment rights need to be balanced with measures to keep firearms away from dangerous people.

    She is against socialism:

In an interview with CBS's Ed O'Keefe, Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Amy Klobuchar explained why she is "troubled" by the idea of Bernie Sanders leading the Democratic ticket in November.

ED O'KEEFE, CBS NEWS: In Friday night's debate, you were the only one who raised their hand when you were asked if you had concerns about the potential of a self-described Democratic Socialist atop the Democratic Party in November's election. Elaborate again on why you're concerned about Bernie Sanders.

AMY KLOBUCHAR: Why I raised my hand? The question should be why didn't everyone else raise their hand? But they didn't, because people are looking at each other, and it may not be popular, and you're going to anger some people, but I believe in leading and doing what you think is right, and that's why I raised my hand, because I am troubled by having a socialist lead our ticket.

She wants to keep pro-life democrats in the party instead of booting them out

Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) on Tuesday said that the Democratic Party should be a "big tent" for people of different beliefs, including those who oppose abortion rights.

Klobuchar, who is running as a centrist candidate and alternative to Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), said while she is "pro-choice" but she doesn't think the party should shut out Democrats who disagree.

"There are pro-life Democrats, and they are part of our party, and I think we need to build a big tent," she said.

"I think we need to bring people in instead of shutting them out."

She's probably the most likely to unseat Trump.

    Agreed.

But then she gets to deal with the Washington establishment, and I don't think she has the ... um... intestinal fortitude... to do that.

She might be even harder on staff than Trump. She's also not as 'moderate' as she makes out to be, having raked in plenty of dough from Planned Parenthood, voted against the infanticide bill, supports paying off student loans, and endorsed the Green New Deal.

    There's also this:
    Source: Jeff Jacoby

“After four years of Donald Trump,” declared Senator Amy Klobuchar in a statement on Tuesday, “a new president can’t wait for a bunch of congressional hearings to act.” To that end, the Minnesota Democrat, who hopes to become the new president in January 2021, issued a 16-page list of all the “concrete steps she will take in her first 100 days” if she is elected to the White House.

Some of Klobuchar’s promises are wholly conventional (“Visit our troops”) or matters of routine management (“Reduce State Department vacancies”). A few are about as noteworthy as calling water wet (“Fill judicial vacancies”).

Many, however, would represent real shifts in US policy. Klobuchar’s pledges include the immediate importation of prescription drugs, a boost in the hourly minimum wage for federal contractors to $15, an end to the trade embargo on Cuba, the addition of transgender identity as a protected civil rights category, and a return to the Iran nuclear deal. Those aren’t modest adjustments; they would significantly change the way the federal government currently operates. Obviously that’s Klobuchar’s objective — and for many voters, the undoing of President Trump’s work can’t begin soon enough.

But do Americans really want their government to operate on the basis of unilateral presidential decrees? When Klobuchar dismisses any thought of waiting “for a bunch of congressional hearings” before upending the government’s priorities and principles, what she is really dismissing is the constitutional order, which puts Congress, not the president, in charge of changing US law. There is nothing ambiguous about Article I, Section 1 of the Constitution. “All legislative powers,” it begins, “shall be vested in a Congress of the United States.” All — not just the ones a president isn’t too impatient to wait for. Yet Congress is almost an afterthought in Klobuchar’s approach.

In the New Hampshire debate last Friday night, Klobuchar was the lone candidate on stage to raise her hand as being opposed to socialism. She’s the favorite of religious Democrats. And Vox’s Matthew Yglesias argues, “Klobuchar … is a Sanders alternative who offers a genuine trade-off — she’s running on a less ambitious agenda, but that consists almost entirely of being careful to avoid politically unpopular positions. She’s for taking action on climate change, but not for a fracking ban. She’s for a public option and price curbs on prescription drugs rather than an expensive Medicare-for-all program. She’d do a better job than Sanders of appealing to swing voters.”

But as our Louis DeBroux put it last month, Klobuchar “is campaigning for an economy-destroying policy of net-zero emissions by 2050 and a ‘more robust public option’ in healthcare. In other words, socialized medicine.” She also supports eliminating the Electoral College, ending offshore oil drilling, and banning semiautomatic rifles.

She would draw in the moderate democrats and the republicans that don't like Trump, and a lot of independents. If she can just get some traction in the primaries.

Trump is basically "Bruce Wayne pretending to be a foppish retarded billionaire" tier genius, in case nerds need a simpler metaphor.

She would be better than Bernie Sanders, who has passed next to zero meaningful legislation in all his time in the Senate. But if you are of the mindset that you would not want a Democratic president to achieve anything, perhaps you should prefer Sanders.
"I am not angered that the Moral Majority boys campaign against abortion. I am angry when the same men who say, "Save OUR children" bellow "Build more and bigger bombers." That's right! Blast the children in other nations into eternity, or limbless misery as they lay crippled from "OUR" bombers! This does not jell." - Leonard Ravenhill
