Stormy Daniels' disgraced lawyer Michael Avenatti faces 42 years in prison after being found GUILTY of trying extort Nike for $25M by threatening to 'expose evidence they bribed college basketball players'

Michael Avenatti, the lawyer who gained fame by representing porn star Stormy Daniels against President Trump, has been convicted of trying to extort Nike for $25million.

The 48-year-old lawyer was convicted by a jury in New York on Friday after a three-week trial in which he was accused of threatening to use his media access to hurt Nike's reputation and stock price unless they paid him up to $25 million.

He was charged last year after the sportswear company accused him of threatening to expose Nike for allegedly funneling payments to college basketball players.

Avenatti, who denied the allegations, was convicted on Friday on all three counts: Attempted extortion, honest services wire fraud and transmission of interstate communications with intent to extort.

The maximum sentence is 42 years behind bars.

Too bad he wasn't one of Trumps mob, he'd probably get a pardon.

        Trump hasn't pardoned anyone.

Weren't you one of those guys here that thought Avenatti was going to take down Trump?

I can't wait for him to appear on American Greed.

He was going to take down Trump with the Stormy case, only he lost the case, and Stormy was forced to pay restitution. The joke is that Trump is the only man in history to ever get a refund from a hooker.

Avenatti was the liberal's darling for months. They even were talking about him running for President!

Avenatti was claiming he would put Trump behind bars, and now he is the one behind bars.

Let's see if he'll sink to the level of Bill Clinton and some of his pardons. You know, much like he sold access to the Lincoln bedroom for personal gain he also appears to have sold pardons -- like to Marc Rich, the sleazebag commodities trader, hedge fund manager, who got a pardon immediately after his wife donated $1 million to the Democratic Party, $100K to Hillary's election and $450K to the Clinton library.

And then there was pardoning his own brother for some of his drug convictions (he would get arrested for a DUI less than a year later).

Those are just two of a whole slew of "interesting" choices to pardon.

I'm always still in trouble again

It's so ironic it's almost scary.

Whataboutism! Trump has taken sleazebag pardons to a whole new level, and will continue to do so because he knows his naive base will go along with anything he does.

A pattern is forming among the Democrats.
