Lots of conspiracy theories being proposed. Some are saying the DNC is presenting another obnoxious oligarch that can equal Trump's obnoxiousness, because maybe that's what populism is and what attracts voters, or so they think. Others are saying Bloomberg is just there to create disruption, take the attention off of Sanders and force a brokered convention to then clear a path for a belated savior -- Hillary. I tend to lean towards the idea they're creating a Hegelian Dialectic scenario. They're presenting a polar opposite of Sanders -- rich, oligarch, establishment, obnoxious, racist, sexist, arrogant -- to then force folks to accept something in between, a more "moderate" candidate -- Butti, Klobuchar.

Bloomberg has a reputation for buying off critics and those investigating him. In the latter case, reporters who started looking into him suddenly find themselves getting invited to be on a charitable board (where they get paid tens of thousands of dollars) that gets a substantial portion of their money from Bloomberg.

This is why nobody has ever heard the sort of things he openly says about minorities, old people, farmers and factory workers and the like -- until now.

I'm always still in trouble again

Dang. I wish I heard him say something like that. I could use the money.

Trump accepted donations, too. Bloomberg seems to be bent on using only his own money.

It doesn't seem very likely that he'll be the nominee.

He was polling okay when it was just his ads telling voters how great he is. But now that people are actually digging into his record and looking seriously at all the awful things he's said about women, all the sexual harassment lawsuits he's had against him, and all the awful racist things he's said, it doesn't seem very likely that he'll maintain his standings in the polls. Not to mention his long history in the Republican party and financial support for Republicans.

Seems to me he would do awfully in the general election, as many Dems would not be able to bring themselves for one sexist, racist, authoritarian Republican oligarch against another, while Trump's base would turn out for him.

At the moment, the results and polling are looking like a shoe-in for Sanders anyway.

"Every line of serious work that I have written since 1936 has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and for democratic socialism" - George Orwell
"[Capitalism] as it exists today is, in my opinion, the real source of evils. I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy" - Albert Einstein

I don't see anything wrong with it. Better he spend and lose his own money than someone else's.

Long history? He was a Democrat until he ran for Mayor in 2001, then he switched to Independent in 2007 and then back to Democrat.

But I agree with the rest of it. He sounds like the democrat version of what the democrats accuse Trump of being.

Polls mean nothing when you have an organization as blatantly and openly corrupt as the DNC. Especially when you have someone like Hillary in the mix (and I don't think there's any denying she's involved in this somehow).

Not just polls but votes as well. Like in the 2016 primaries where most of them were rigged so that Hillary would end up with the most delegates regardless if she got the most votes or not.

And as we discovered in the emails, MSM is in cohorts with the rigging. I highly doubt MSM would be sensationalizing how bad and racist and sexist Bloomberg is if he was the go-to Dem candidate. I would expect that from TYT and maybe Krystal Ball of The Hill but not from establishment networks like cnn and msnbc. Something else must be up.

Which is to say that he's a typical Democrat.

They want him to be a spoiler for Crazy Bernie but not popular enough to secure the nomination himself.
