I'm not a communist and have never been one. I'm a social democrat or democratic socialist.

Why should being neutral about a bunch of questions necessarily mean a person should be reported as 50/50 communist? Most people in the world aren't communists nor close to it. So if the test reported the average person who shrugs at questions as being close to communism, that would mean there was something wrong with it.
Also some of the questions were directly about on-brand outright-communism, and some of the questions were about things that are only vaguely associated with communism. If the test is at all accurate (and it does actually seem to be a well thought out test that gives accurate and nuanced results to people) hopefully it's weighting the different questions with regard to how closely they actually relate to communism."I hate him passionately", he's "a demonic force" - Tucker Carlson, in private, on Donald Trump

Relax Star, this isn't a serious thread.

Hey. These results are pretty good, aren't they?

It is pretty crazy. All the stupid things I selected but still am only at 60%
They forgot to throw in the question about taking up weapons against the upper class.Last edited by mikewhitney; 02-19-2020, 04:52 PM.

I was stumped by the second question: "The absence of a completely free market economy will inevitably lead to the suppression of individual rights."
I can't really answer because I don't recall ever living in a free market economy. Maybe it existed in the America sometime before the early 20th century, but it doesn't exist now.

I scored a healthy 22%. Probably because a few questions were kind of ambiguous or too broad - like the one about religion drugging the masses. Well, yeah, but not all religions. Scientology vs Buddhism vs Bahai vs .......>>> Witty remark or snarky quote of another poster goes here <<<...

This test was not about Communism. The test begins by claiming it is basing it’s definition on Marx’s theories, but Marx never wrote about centralized state control.
So it is operating with a definition of Communism which goes like this: “Anything that is not Laissez Faire Capitalism”
Any criticism of capitalism is considered Communist.
Also: 35% meaning I am a free market capitalist who believes in reasonable regulations, and I am critical of individualism (which at any rate is an anti-conservative value).Last edited by Leonhard; 02-20-2020, 12:23 AM.
