    Back to the topic,

The US CDC stopped reporting the numbers tested.

The lack of testing is a scandal. This is the coverup.
    Angry Representative demands an explanation!

"Right now, there's probably hundreds or low thousands of cases....that aren't reported yet."

You are still making the fundamental mistake of thinking that stock market prices tell you anything about the real economy. CDC said something, causing yuge drop in US stock prices.

Did that cause the real economy of real goods and services to have a yuge drop? No. A yuge drop in supply? No. A yuge drop in demand? No. Zero to negligible impact.

The supply shock in China, on the other hand, affects the real economy.

Demi will try to be kind here, but you're just not thinking at all, just regurgitating the conventional nonsense.

"Demi, how can you say such a thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has warned that up to 70% of the country's population - some 58 million people - could contract the coronavirus.

Mrs Merkel made the stark prediction at a news conference on Wednesday alongside Health Minister Jens Spahn.

She said since there was no known cure, the focus would fall on slowing the spread of the virus. "It's about winning time," she explained.

                Don't test, don't tell
Reminder that the Japanese actively do not want to test, which is why their confirmed numbers are so low.

SoftBank's Masayoshi Son reconsiders heavily criticized coronavirus test plan

SoftBank founder Masayoshi Son took to Twitter on Wednesday to offer a million free coronavirus tests, only to get hit by a barrage of criticism that he risked overwhelming medical facilities, prompting him to say he might reconsider the plan.

The SoftBank Group chief executive, who last posted on Twitter three years ago, expressed concern about the coronavirus outbreak, telling Twitter followers on Tuesday he was planning to take action.

“I would like to provide the opportunity for free PCR testing for those who are worried about the novel coronavirus,” Son tweeted on Wednesday. “First, for 1 million people. We are preparing how they can apply,” he said, referring to polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests which can detect very early infections.

His proposal was met with criticism that it would overburden medical facilities and workers.

Don't Japanese go around wearing masks all the time anyway?

                    That helps, but not enough.

There are two extremes for responses. The first is DTDT, like Japan. The second is to go full blown quarantine lockdown like China and Italy. It's a fantastic opportunity to see how and why different governments react differently to the coronavirus challenge, to compare different political and social systems.

Just tell everyone to stay inside their homes for a month, and shoot anyone who doesn't. Problem solved.

Germany and UK have chosen DTDT, Denmark is going full lockdown.
