God always comes first. I find this can confuse people who don't believe God exists or that He's involved in their lives.

You'd be surprised how many "Christians" think it strange that I have qualms about the Pledge of Allegiance.

I get it. I have a few beliefs myself that are inside orthodoxy but outside of mainstream belief. I keep them to myself unless I really trust the other person.

I don't find it strange about the Pledge. I can see how saying it could be interpreted as putting country above God.

I think the Pledge of Allegiance is not only non-Christian, but obviously so. I've been told I'm crazy for thinking that, but I don't think you're all off base.

It was actually written by a socialist to shore up nationalist feelings at a time of questioning of government. I believe my allegiance is to God alone.

I have softened my stance on this over time, but I still do believe that it's not appropriate in church services around the 4th of July.

Demi also thinks mass suffrage is a joke. Sheep need shepherds instead of being told some nonsense about self-rule.

                    What about him?

I'm not going to criticize anybody for not standing for the national anthem given that I believe standing at reverent attention with one's hand over their heart while staring at a flag does, in fact, at least approach idolatry. But why do you ask?

I ask because of the arguments made by Christians on the topic of taking the knee.
