Schumer Claims Conservative Supreme Court Justices Will ‘Pay the Price’ If They Rule against Abortion Advocates

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer on Wednesday warned Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh that they will “pay the price” if they take a position he disagrees with in deciding a case that addresses the credentials required for doctors who perform abortions.

“I want to tell you, Gorsuch. I want to tell you, Kavanaugh. You have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price,” Schumer told a cheering crowd of abortion-rights advocates in front of the Supreme Court.

“You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions,” the New York Democrat added.

1) The content and tone of his remarks show that he (via his staff) was plainly lying with the claim he was just talking about the political consequences to Republican Senators. He was clearly directing the threats at SCOTUS itself.

2) Contrary to the retarded assertions of some, his remarks were vastly different in both kind and tone from Bad Orange Man's suggestion that particular Justices should recuse themselves from certain cases because of their openly voiced biases.

He explicitly threatens Gorsuch and Kavanaugh and then a spokesperson tried to walk it back by saying that he meant that Republican elected officials will pay a political price which I assume he meant come election time. That doesn't even make sense. And most certainly doesn't pass the smell test.

I can't figure out if you're saying that he's too spineless to make good on his threat, or that openly threatening federal judges is a spineless act.

Schumer is now claiming that he'd "never, never" threaten members of SCOTUS and Republicans are "manufacturing outrage."

Riiiight. He deliberately chose the steps of the Supreme Court to call out two justices in front of a crowd of rabid supporters saying that they'll "pay the price" and they "won't know what him them" if they have the temerity to not do as he tells them and yet wants us to believe he'd "never, never" do such a thing.
