the bible = the tree of the knowledge of good and evil () Jesus = the tree of life
The bible
It is a book containing the knowledge of good and evil.
The forbidden fruit was not an apple. The fruit of a tree is also paper. And upon the pages of the bible is the knowledge of good and evil. The bible is poisoned with the knowledge of evil.
Ritualistic animal sacrifices, ceremonies incorporating the blood of dead animals, superstitious numbers, curses, evil spirits, dark prophecies... all in the bible.
Plotting, conspiracy, mass-murder, betrayal, genocide, slavery, suffering, wars... all in the bible.
A book is not 'Holy' if it contains the knowledge of evil, Satan, the devil, demons...
It is darkness. It is contaminated. It is unclean. It is poison.
Religion is the church of the poison mind. Minds poisoned by the knowledge of evil. People are deceived by religion.
The kingdom of God is within us all. Not within the pages of a book containing the knowledge of evil. I have recently shut it for good. I will not touch, nor taste of it again.
Because of Jesus Christ, I'm back in the land of the living. I've torn off my fig-leaf, and am returning to Eden. I am who God made me to be. The shame, guilt, and confusion is past-tense.
Thank You Jesus.
The Tree of Life = Jesus Christ
Eat freely from this tree and be saved.

Gen. 1:1 In the beginning The Universal Force created the heaven and the earth.
Gen. 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Natural Laws moved upon the face of the waters.

Re: the bible = the tree of the knowledge of good and evil () Jesus = the tree of life
Michael, egad.... You're saying God gave us His holy word so that we should reject it??? But we should accept Christ, even though we have no reason to if we don't partake of the Bible?
I'm sorry, but you have completley missed the boat on this one. The Tree of Knowledge isn't analogous to the Bible. The Bible is a heck of a lot more than just knowledge of good and evil. It is art and poetry, it is history and conveys amoral (not concerned with morals) historical facts, as well as prophecy. Doctrine is only a small portion of what the Bible includes.
No, the Tree of Knowledge is the Law. The Law is the ministry of sin and death. The Law is what condemns humanity to Hell and puts God in the position of doing things like the Flood and most importantly, making the sacrifice of His own Son for us. Ezekiel 31 describes what happened to the Tree of Knowledge, how God at the time of the Flood became so wrathful about the condemnation of the Law in the world that when He destroyed the world at that time, he destroyed the Tree of Knowledge and cast it down into Hell in a fit of wrath.
Why do you think Christ was preordained to hang from a "tree?" The cross is the Tree of Knowledge. The cross is the Law. Condemnation of sin. The Law points us to the need for Christ, but once we are in Christ, we no longer need the Law. We aren't under the Law, we can't be condemned by the Law, all things are lawful for us.
Jesus makes it very clear, on the other hand, that scripture is an incredibly important part of a believer's life. How do you account for the fact that Jesus taught the Bible to believers and unbelievers, alike???? I can't fathom how you can possibly come to the conclusion that we should abstain from it as Adam should have abstained from the Tree of Knowledge. Wow...
The Law contains knowledge of evil. The Law is holy and perfect! Uhm.....?A book is not 'Holy' if it contains the knowledge of evil, Satan, the devil, demons...
Thanks for your patience in the thread's I have previously committed myself to. Things are still difficult and topsy-turvy here, and I may actually start work somewhere this week (strong likelihood), so I'll do my best to answer some of those threads! See you in the forums...
When even our Christian leadership has committed to a strategy of compromising on "Do not murder" by supporting judges [like Alito], politicians [like Bush] and rulings that explicitly will kill certain innocent children, it is absurd for us to ask God to bless America. -- Bob Enyart, 1/18/06

Reality.
Everything you said about the bible, the things which are contained in the bible, perhaps all too true.
Reality, that is what is in the bible, OT.
People are murdered, Sodom wiped out, plagues, ... real life stuff.
Whether you read the bible, whether you believe in God, the Father, or not... Reality speaks for itself.
The Almighty of the OT is like the Universe itself. That universal power, Reality, gives and takes.
In that, Reality is "God." The Almighty IS Universal Power. And, we can see the spirit of Universe in it's Natural Laws.
Let us, considering those Natural Laws, make living things. Let us, meaning, these Natural Laws, let the Natural Laws make man.
And, once made, let men aid and support, and love eachother,... for in this Reality, the axe stands at the tree of living things, ever ready to prune branches which do not love and worship Realty.
To confront Reality, to oppose Reality, to deny Reality, is to die, in the lake of firey brimstone of EXTINCTION.
Men must learn the lessons of Reality, and appreciate Reality, see Reality as understandable. Reality is not capricious, but orderly, predictable, under Universal Law, Physics. We can learn to love Reality, because it is the ONLY Reality we have.
We MUST learn to love one another, too, because the reality is,... we are our only enemy.
That sums the 1st and 2nd Commandments found in the Reality of scripture, does it not?

Michael, I'd like to know how you can have the Good News without knowing the Bad News? The Law is exactly what points us to Christ.
