Enter the Church and wash away your sins. For here there is a hospital and not a court of law. Do not be ashamed to enter the Church; be ashamed when you sin, but not when you repent. – St. John Chrysostom

But the downside of this bug is looking pretty sunny for me.
One of our campuses closed about an hour ago. Sometime around about next week, I'm expecting the rest of our campuses to follow suit. In the meantime, I'm doing trial runs with online office hours this weekend, preparing to move all instruction online as soon as necessary.
The software's sweet. I'm a tablet professor anyway, using local wi-fi to get to the classroom projectors, so it's just a question of getting my screen at home in front of them and providing interactivity with my students. I won't be able to see their faces, (unless they choose to share cams), but they can speak or chat at me, and the lectures can be recorded for asynchronous viewing.
I don't have to dress up. I don't have to commute.
I can live with this.
But I'm still going to miss their faces.
Feel free to share how COV-19 is affecting your lives, too.
Universities all switched to online lectures in Toronto, no more in-class tests or exams. This bodes well for my calc 2 mark.
I'm worried about the summer semester since two of my courses are lab-heavy and if they get cancelled I can probably kiss my plans to graduate in less than 2 years goodbye.
OTOH it still beats being dead."As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths." Isaiah 3:12
There is no such thing as innocence, only degrees of guilt.
