10 o'clock news last night, a reporter went around our city looking for toilet paper and could not find any in any store (including Home Depot). Finally found the last roll at a convenience store somewhere. I'm not sure if they thought to check Office Depot... It's absolutely insane!!!!

They also carry coffee and snacks and anything else you'd expect to find in an office. Hence their name.

Our local grocery store chain had pallets and pallets of toilet paper at one of their locations, according to my mother. I haven't been to the store myself in days.

I might snack or drink while in an office but in over 60 years I've never pooped there.

I was buying groceries with my Kroger app yesterday, and all of a sudden it started getting bogged down and slow, then errors popped up. Luckily I was just trying to modify a pickup order I had placed the day before for pickup this morning.

I was to pick up the groceries this morning at 10AM but I got a text at 9:45 saying that they were running behind and I had to wait till 11.

When I got there I found about half of the stuff on my list was out of stock. The guy who loaded my car said it was nuts. They had people lined up out the door when he got there this morning at 7. He said half of the shelves were empty and they have been having trouble getting trucks in to deliver groceries.

People are acting like this is the end of the world. He said they were out of milk and eggs and even WATER. What the heck? Why would people think the water would be shut off?

Office Depot even carries candy and snacks and stuff - so you can go buy your office supplies, and restock your snack closet!

And the company I work for got bought by Office Depot so I get an employee's discount! I think it's 25%.

The same thing happens every time it might snow here. In 47 years of living here the worst has been that you can't go anywhere for two days. And that only happened once. Yet folks stock up on a month's supply of bread, milk and toilet paper every single time.

I'm always still in trouble again

Walmart was cleared out of bottled water when I was there yesterday. Back in my television news photographer days, we used to call it a "BMT run": bread, milk, toilet paper. There was an overnight blizzard in Central Virginia in the mid-90s that effectively shut the state down, and those were three items that sold out the quickest. There were even reports of people flagging down bread delivery trucks and offering the drivers substantial sums for a loaf of bread. My news director joked that we should skip covering the news and load up the photog trucks with bread and start selling it on the street.

When "the Students" arrive each semester at A&M there is an immediate shortage of three items -- bread, TP and beer. The locals know this, and stock up prior. Rinse, repeat.

At least when Bernie gets elected and starts his socialism program lots of people will already be stocked up and won't have to wait in lines for their bread!
