Natural Science 301 Guidelines

This is an open forum area for all members for discussions on all issues of science and origins. This area will and does get volatile at times, but we ask that it be kept to a dull roar, and moderators will intervene to keep the peace if necessary. This means obvious trolling and flaming that becomes a problem will be dealt with, and you might find yourself in the doghouse.

As usual, Tweb rules apply. If you haven't read them now would be a good time.

Frank, as I keep saying, your opinion is all you ever offer. Offer data to back up that claim. How did an ark being pushed into the indian ocean end up in Turkey? Facts matter my friend. Opinions are like noses.

It did not end up in Turkey. The Sumerian stories written in cuneiform evolved through Babylonian, and Canaanite and Ugarite texts, and then to the the Hebrew texts written between ~1000-600 BCE. The Garden of Eden, and the timing of the catastrophic flood of the Tigris-Euphrates Valley and the Sumerian record better fits as the Source. Thre is geologic evidence that fits the time line for catastrophic flood.

I consider the flooding of the Mediterranean too ancient to be the source of the flood story in Genesis. There are a number of academic sources that race the Genesis Flood to Mesopotamia. The following is an example. I am not alone in this view.
