Health Science 101 Guidelines

Greetings! Welcome to Health Science.

Here's where we talk about the latest fad diets, the advantages of vegetarianism, the joy of exercise and good health. Like everywhere else at Tweb our decorum rules apply.

This is a place to exchange ideas and network with other health conscience folks, this isn't a forum for heated debate.

The mutation rate may be slow, but it's still sufficient to allow folks to track sources.

The district manager said that because I'm not showing any symptoms (other than a dry throat which could well be due to the massive amount of pollen in the air) that it would be unpaid which could change if I start developing symptoms or my co-worker is diagnosed with corona.

Considering both my home and car are paid off I can weather this without too much difficulty.

In other news I stopped by Walmart on the way home. They had a few rolls of the really cheap toilet paper (with a sign limiting one package per customer). I got one for my neighbor who said she was down to her last roll.

I also got some milk and rice although all there was were a few packs of some of the microwave for 90 seconds variety. It isn't that it's awful or anything but at nearly $1.90/pack it isn't exactly economical.
Officially applying for a leave of absence has been a nightmare.

When I left Wednesday I was given a 1-800 number to call to do so. When you call you get a message saying that they are no longer taking requests by phone and you need to do it online. Okay, no problem -- accept that when they give the web address they don't spell it out leading me to try nearly 20 variations all without success.

So I call work Thursday and my boss gives it to me. The fact that everyone basically mispronounces it (the w sounds like an r) was the issue.

So I go online. As I enter my information I get a notification saying that I can't proceed without a case number. I don't have a case number. In fact that's what I thought I'd get when I registered.

So I try calling my boss but she has left for the day. I try again Friday multiple times but she was tied up in meetings and conference calls all day.

So I call this morning (Saturday) and finally get hold of her. She confirms that I have to register in order to get a case number. But they wouldn't let me complete my registration without a case number.

She suggests trying again or trying to talk to someone live and explain my situation.

Sooo, I went back online and entered my password only to get the message that my login has been disabled "due to excessive reset attempts." I have not once tried to reset my password. Not once. I got it Thursday and let Chrome store it.

But they did provide a phone number to call if there was a problem.

That office is closed until Monday.

Sounds like you work for the government.

          CIA?

I'm associated with the NSA not the CIA.

Well, he could tell you, but then he'd have to steal your toilet paper.

                    • My governor just signed a stay at home order effective 8 PM tonight.
Enter the Church and wash away your sins. For here there is a hospital and not a court of law. Do not be ashamed to enter the Church; be ashamed when you sin, but not when you repent. – St. John Chrysostom

I was going to head to the store tonight, but the place I was going is on the exempt list, so I can wait.

                          • Spent several hours trying to apply for LOA.

                            Still can't register.

Everyone says it's the other guy that handles it. And yet folks regularly apply all the time.

I'm always still in trouble again

I haven't even got my mail since Wednesday. I'll walk down to the mailbox tomorrow since by blood pressure medicine should have arrived today.

                              • It seems like practically any place I can think of (or at least that I would ever want to go to) seems to be "exempt" despite a full state lockdown here, the only real exception I can think of being my church.

I am angry when the same men who say, "Save OUR children" bellow "Build more and bigger bombers." That's right! Blast the children in other nations into eternity, or limbless misery as they lay crippled from "OUR" bombers! This does not jell." - Leonard Ravenhill
