I think it is immoral. And stupid. If you are trying to purposefully infect others with a dangerous disease, that is wrong. If it's a deadly disease (like HIV was) it's evil. I think it would be equivalent to going around poisoning people. Like the guy who poisoned the Tylenol back in the 80's. I consider it murder.
Where do you think the moral line gets crossed? Obviously purposefully infecting others is wrong but how far does the moral responsibility go in actively preventing others from getting infected?

Should there also be some moral reciprocal obligations placed on the uninfected to take a level of care to protect themselves from infection?

Personally I get mad when someone comes to work with a cold spreading it around because they don't want to call in sick.

      What do you think?

Why wouldn’t they call in sick?

When someone shows obvious symptoms like that then we naturally take precautions around them to avoid catching it ourselves.

If we get sick then that sick person doesn’t get blamed for being sick. You knew they were sick and still chose to share a cigarette or shake their hand and not wash etc.

Should everyone have a responsibility to take these precautions all the time regardless if they show symptoms or not?

You would have to ask them. Maybe they don't have any vacation/sick days left, maybe they don't care, or feel they have some deadline to meet. The result though, is that they make others sick who have to miss work.

well, yeah, but usually by the time you find out, they have already spread their germs all over the place.

And many don't want to get sick but end up in the same place the person sneezed or coughed or touched something and then handed it to a coworker or sent it through the interoffice mail.

If they don't know they are sick then how would they know to take precautions? But once they know, they should have the courtesy to stay away from people, especially at work. One person can infect other workers and shut down an entire department.

Some folks don't want to miss any time from work because either money's tight and they can't afford to or because they're angling for a raise/promotion and don't want to have any call outs. Others are very proud of having never missed a day's work in x number of years and will drag themselves in, infecting half the office doing so.

I'm always still in trouble again

our company used to pay a $50 bonus if you didn't miss any work during a quarter. Thankfully they have stopped that.

                https://www.cnbc.com/2020/03/02/coro...ous-group.html

A secretive, insular religious group (which is discriminated against) is being sued in South Korea for its actions in the face of the coronavirus threat.

It appears that some 60% of the south Korea outbreak is tied to that one group, and they in turn have been less than open about their contacts.
