Oh I got it. You seemed to miss the point too.

I get it just fine, but there’s no reason I should take advice on Christianity or anyone’s walk with God, with you.

I don't recall suggesting you should. Indeed, it would be rather odd for me to make any suggestions about anyone's "walk with god" since I believe they are actually walking alone.

                • So I broke down and watched Meet The Press live, instead of waiting for the podcast. But that's not the important thing. The important thing is that Joel Osteen shows up right afterwards.

Joel Osteen is preaching this morning to an empty church, and now I don't know how I ever lived without him. Awesome news, folks. There's no need to fear covid-19! It turns out God is going to shield us from the virus. There were caveats in there, like not watching the news, or talking to friends and family members who are afraid, but if you can manage that, God's going to make you invisible to everything that can harm you.

                  What a relief.

                  • Joel Osteen is a fraud.

It's like an anecdote I heard years ago:

"I don't wear a seatbelt, because God will protect me."
                    "God doesn't protect fools."

                    • Osteen is the worst sort of fraud. Someone who's in it for the money.

I'm always still in trouble again

                        • Heard this from a Christian comedian:

"You've seen those bumper stickers that read, 'Warning: In case of rapture, this vehicle will be unmanned,' right? Well, I have a bumper sticker that reads, 'Warning: In case of rapture, this vehicle will violently swerve to the right as my mother-in-law desperately grabs the wheel'."

Go ahead, crush my hopes, destroy my joy.

I have nothing but contempt for those who preach a "prosperity gospel" with promises of wealth, health and happiness if you just pray the right way and do the right things (which usually entails sending a large "love donation" or "gift" to the one preaching it). The Bible clearly tells us otherwise like when Paul tells us

For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake
                              --Philippians 1:29

                              and

Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted
                              --II Timothy 3:12

There are numerous other statements of this sort which all fly in the face of the idea that if you just pray and pay you'll do fine. And if it doesn't work them obviously you didn't pray in the right manner or show enough faith, or make a big enough contribution.

I'm always still in trouble again
