    I'll answer here*.

I think there will be a marked difference in red state and blue state response and results

    2. Cuomo will be a hero (and Newsome and "Snake" Inslee), Whitmer and Dewine (Mich and Oh) will be worth watching, I think their poll numbers will sky rocket, and the campaigns will use Trump's quotes and insults as a badge of honor.

    3. Limited, most in state workers will move to other hospitals in the state, same for ventilators.

    * If I wait for others to post, people ask why I don't give my views. If I answer in the OP, posters avoid the OP questions and discussion preferring a string of ad homs. If I separate the OP from my views, it is called serial posting. Since this is the format which is most effective, I will use this format of providing my answers in the subsequent post.

Here is the predicted peak, 9 April, for New York State, under Andrew Cuomo. https://covid19.healthdata.org/projections

If it is accurate, New York will be in better position than the rest of the nation.

One question which I did not ask in the OP was whether there will be a negative correlation between "closeness" of the governor to Trump and the states emergence from covid 19.

This thread reminds me of the liberal pundit who ignorantly suggested that conservatives were more likely to get sick than liberals because our optimism would presumably make us less careful.

I have been listening to Cuomo every day. Here is my impression. He talks way too much. His briefings could be cut in third. He just rambles on and on and on. He also just seems to be complaining about stuff. I haven't really heard him say what he is actually doing to make things better, or giving any hopeful news. And his monotonous tone of voice and New York accent grates on my nerves.

EGGzackly. Initially, it was all about criticizing Trump, then he remembered he needed federal funds, so he started praising Trump.
The rest of the nation is NOT New York, so I have no idea why the national media is spending so much time covering what Cuomo says.
Just provide the statistics and report the news.
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

I am seriously bothered by the fact that Trump has outright said that he's told Pence not to bother helping/working with governors who criticize him. Given how many lives are at stake, I don't think I'm going overboard to call that behavior sociopathic.

It's pretty obvious they're grooming him to be the Democrat nominee.

Uh, no, Trump never said that, and he recently took a CNN reporter to task for repeating this falsehood:

REPORTER: I also would like to ask some comments you made on Friday. You were talking about governors and states, you said, "want them to be appreciative."

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: I didn't say that.

REPORTER: You said if they don't treat you right, "I don't call." These are direct quotes, sir.

TRUMP: Excuse me. You ready? Take a look at what I said. I want them to be appreciative of me, okay? And then you cut it up. It is fake news.

                      REPORTER: You and your administration.

TRUMP: You just said it again. You know the answer, know the answer is a lie.

REPORTER: I can read you the full comment.

TRUMP: Your statement and your response and your answer is a lie. Here is the story, I said I want you to be appreciative of me and you go on and I go on and you cut it off.

REPORTER: You said, "I want them to be appreciative, I don't want them to say things that are not true. I want them to be appreciative. We have done a great job. I am not talking about me, I am talking about Mike Pence and the task force and the Army Corp. of Engineers. If they don't treat me right, I don't call."

                      TRUMP: I don't call -- I don't call. I don't call the governor of Washington.

REPORTER: Why in this time --

TRUMP: Mike Pence calls and FEMA calls. Did I ask Mike to do anything negative to the state of Washington? Michigan? I love that state, I love that state. So proud of what's happening with the auto industry coming back to Michigan. No, I don't have to call. I am probably better off not. We don't get along, he's a failed presidential candidate, the governor of Washington. He's a nasty person, so you know who calls? Mike Pence. I get the head of FEMA and the admiral to call.

What you did not say. You started it off and you talked about -- I have to be appreciated. You said because if you don't appreciate, you are not respecting these incredible people, the two admirals, you are not appreciating FEMA and the Army Corps of Engineers who build 2,900 beds in three and a half days. You are not appreciating all the work that has been done and these incredible people that are delivering things in numbers that nobody has ever seen.

That's why people are not watching CNN very much anymore. That's why they don't like it and your rating are no good. You, after knowing the truth for days now, you bring up the old lies. Read the rest of your question, the rest of your statement, you didn't put in. You have to put that in. It said in there, FEMA it says Army Corps of Engineers because when they disrespect me, they are disrespecting our government. You know what -- I don't mind if I am disrespected but they can't disrespect the Army Corps of Engineers and FEMA.

Please, go ahead. I want them to appreciate the incredible job we are doing. We are doing a job the likes of which never been done before. There are a couple of people that know that. But for political reasons, let's say they are Democrats, they don't want to give this administration credit. It is okay. I don't have to deal with them but our vice president is dealing with them. That is why CNN is not trusted anymore. They are fake news.

Here are some examples of what he has said:

“[Mike Pence] calls all the governors, I tell him, I mean I’m a different type of person, I say, ‘Mike, don’t call the governor of Washington, you’re wasting your time with him. Don’t call the woman in Michigan, doesn’t make any difference what happens’,”
And this is also about Mike Pence:

“You know what I say? If they don’t treat you right, I don’t call. He’s a different type of person. He’ll call quietly anyway.”
In case anyone wants to make the claim he has not said this, luckily, it is on video as well.

Correct. It is directly on video in the link that Charles provides. Quoting Trump denying he ever said it does not "refute" the claim.

I didn't think linking would be necessary given how incessantly the comments have been covered in the last two days

It's not very clear to me why Cuomo is getting praised. The NY numbers seem terrible, and way way worse than places like Washington state where Inslee does actually seem to be doing a good job.
