Could a Republican who is an IG (inspector general) actually report a finding that hospitals are facing critical shortages?

Trump: Give me the name of the Inspector General, could politics be entered into that?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2fEGLVzyDkI

Talk about a disconnect from reality.

Trump is downplaying the critical needs, the problems in the hospitals; Cuomo is admitting to the problems hospitals face.

      Here is another story: https://www.reuters.com/article/us-h...-idUSKBN21P2NR
The findings confirmed what governors, mayors and local health officials have been saying for weeks: that hospitals nationwide had insufficient capacity to handle the surge of coronavirus patients.

But Trump suggested the inspector general was politically motivated and asked why she had not spoken to admirals, generals, the vice president or others in charge before doing the report.

A report came out which was critical of the administration, and Trump summarily dismissed it as political, "another fake dossier"

Trump says hospitals had capacity and supplies to meet the challenge.

Now one nursing home has been shut down, the employees did not show up. The news reports did not give any details. But throughout the nation's hospitals, we are hearing reports of shortages and administrations reprisals against doctors and nurses for donning personal PPE.

An epidemic where no one shows up is like the war where no one shows up (anyone remember the 70s?)

If it ripples through the system, that would be a major breakdown/collapse. But do the employees have a right to protect themselves and their families?

"As the reporter said, the survey did find: “Hospitals reported that their most significant challenges centered on testing and caring for patients with COVID-19 and keeping staff safe. … Hospitals reported that severe shortages of testing supplies and extended waits for test results limited hospitals’ ability to monitor the health of patients and staff.”

Eh, this news story isn't exactly correct. The IG is being criticized not for the report itself but because she shared it with the media instead of with the White House and the China virus task force. So, yeah, it was a nakedly political maneuver.

♦Step One – Health and Human Services Inspector General Christi Grimm compiled what’s called a “pulse survey” of hospital administrators over a period of March 23-27. Grimm’s report was titled “Hospital Experiences Responding to the COVID-19 Pandemic.”

♦Step Two – Instead of delivering her survey to the coronavirus task force members, including Assistant Secretary for HHS Admiral Brett Giroir, Ms. Grimm gave preliminary and incomplete results of her survey to allied members of the resistance media. This decision clearly outlines the motives and intentions of HHS IG Christi Grimm as an ally of the deep administrative state.

♦Step Three – The current president of the White House Correspondents Association, ABC News Jonathan Karl, coordinates questions from the press pool based on Ms. Grimm’s incomplete and leaked report. This is the set-up to create the narrative by ambushing the Trump administration with questions. Some within the press pool could see the set-up taking place. It also appears that Dr. Fauci was aware of the objective.

The "resistance media"? Ally of the deep state?

I do not know if it was leaked, but why does the conservative treehouse believe that Grimm was the one who leaked the report?

If the Trump administration was "ambushed" by the question, allegations of shortages at the nation's hospitals, then that says a bit a bit about the administration's competency.

No, it says that people with an alternative agenda deliberately kept the President in the dark in order to setup these media ambushes. Is it a sign of incompetence when the people you're supposed to be able to trust stab you in the back?

Who kept Trump in the dark and what was he kept in the dark about? The report found that hospitals are facing critical shortages.

No rational person was surprised at the report's findings. He did not need to attack the IG.

He did say that the IG should have talked to generals and admirals, perhaps he has them cowed.

Christi Grimm will probably be the next IG, following the firings of IG Atkinson (impeachment) and IG Fine,( corona stimulus) to be fired by Trump. Independent oversight is not something Trump, being the dictator that he is, will put up with.

Atkinson didn't report the whistleblower complaint to the dictator either, which is the reason Trump gave for firing him.

Good. All these people trying to keep their President in the dark need to be fired.
