The rate things are going with Covid in the US, I wouldn't be surprised if it reaches #1.
Especially when they attribute deaths from other causes to Covid to increase the tally.

I'm going to go ahead and pass judgement on that rotten fascist judge's heart and soul: If Shelley had been black instead of a pretty blond, Judge Eric "Clarence Thomas is a race-traitor" Moye would have let her off with a gentle warning, if not an outright commendation for her courage.

What I find hee-larious is RWNJs who post this like it's a a solid argument. To argue this is to misunderstand this issue from every possible angle and to proclaim so proudly.

    Embarrassing.

Nonsense DO. There is risk and reward on every level. What is worse, more COVID deaths or effectively destroying an economy and small businesses, with effects that last for years? Again, like I said:

We could save thousands of lives in the US if we just restricted the highest speed limit to 35mph, and only allowed/sold cars that could not go faster (the only exception would be emergency vehicles).

We would see a serious dividend of lives saved year after year after year...

Yes, there is risk and reward on every level. But pointing at cars and saying "cars kill, cars bad" is caveman level reasoning which can't possibly hope to explore the issue on a deep enough level to actually make a point.

The relevant issue which RWNJ seem to miss is that the destruction of our economy was entirely unnecessary. Shutting down the economy is the measure of last resort to deal with an emergency situation, not the ideal way to attacking this disease (which would be testing and contact tracing). All the blame for whichever outcome we end up with, heaps of dead, a destroyed economy, or both, rests entirely on Trump and his administration. Don't attempt to shift the consequences of the *measure of last resort* onto those actually implementing it at their own political risk or make the goofy comparison to guns or swimming pools.

It's actually a pretty accurate comparison. If we had the 24/7 news coverage of auto fatalities that we have with the C-19 pandemic, not only would we see the same exact level of public hysteria about the issue, but we'd have policies implemented that would radically change those fatality outcomes. It's the EXACT same analogy in fact.

Cars have gotten safer year after year in response to public outcry. So what's your point?
