Seriously -- that's a good point... that was back in the day when I ATE white bread... hadn't had any in YEARS, til I was at a Church Member's house, and they served sandwiches with white bread... I ate one because they insisted, but it was like ... um... it was gooey and yukkie.

So, I'm peanutbuttering both sides out of HABIT rather than need!

I butter both sides of my PBJ. Then put PB on one side and usually preserves on the other. Of course this means I have to clean the butter off the knife first.

Yes, ALWAYS lick the butter off before using the knife for jelly or peanutbutter!

Or don't, unless you're fine with mold in your jelly or peanutbutter jar.

You're assumin' the jars are not going to be empty LONG before mold can grow?

In my house they would certainly not be.

And honestly? Peanutbutter isn't really all that great. I prefer Nutella.

And if your universal joint freezes up, slather a little on it, and you're good to go again!

As to the poll. I cut it if I want to - or I don't cut it if I don't want to. Diagonally if I feel like it - straight if not. Into halves if that's what I'm in the mood for - or into quarters if I'm in a small bite mood.

Basically, I do it whatever way I want to - sheesh...
