People have a tendency to get things out of proportion. It is natural to fear the unknown and over react if we believe the boogeyman is going to get us.
It is also natural for the media to hype or exaggerate things to attract an audience, and thus satisfy their sponsors.
Democrats are more inclined to follow the media and buy into the hype. The earth is overheating and we're all going to die, the ozone hole will grow until we all have cancer, an asteroid is going to hit us, Asian hornets are going to murder us, blah blah blah. This pandemic is bad, yes, but not worth screaming and running around in circles over. History will look back one day and ask why there were so many snowflakes during this era.

More than 70 of those who showed up for a demonstration in Madison tested positive for the virus. These people ridicule and do not take the virus seriously and like Trump are not concerning about protecting themselves and others.Last edited by shunyadragon; 05-11-2020, 04:18 PM.Glendower: I can call spirits from the vasty deep.

e.g. Psychology Today: Fear and Anxiety Drive Conservatives' Political Attitudes - Can brain differences explain conservatives' fear-driven political stances?"I hate him passionately", he's "a demonic force" - Tucker Carlson, in private, on Donald Trump
"Every line of serious work that I have written since 1936 has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and for democratic socialism" - George Orwell
"[Capitalism] as it exists today is, in my opinion, the real source of evils. I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy" - Albert Einstein
