Natural Science 301 Guidelines
This is an open forum area for all members for discussions on all issues of science and origins. This area will and does get volatile at times, but we ask that it be kept to a dull roar, and moderators will intervene to keep the peace if necessary. This means obvious trolling and flaming that becomes a problem will be dealt with, and you might find yourself in the doghouse.
As usual, Tweb rules apply. If you haven't read them now would be a good time.

Originally posted by Cow Poke View PostYeah, I love this "outside the box" thinking that competition encourages. And, again, the Dragon capsule looks downright sleek, luxurious and SPACIOUS compared to the Apollo capsules. I wonder how many NASA employees were recruited by SpaceX for their expertise, and if so, how excited those people might be to be working in a much less restrictive "government think" environment.
And also just keeping most of the development and manufacturing inhouse, where NASA had (for historical reasons) a tendency to do one thing in one state, move the thing to another state, do another thing there, test in Texas, etc...
Cleaning off that cruft was a good thing.
