  • China Clamps Down On Hong Kong...

What will the EU do? The UN? The US?

China Approves Plan to Rein In Hong Kong, Defying Worldwide Outcry

Beijing ordered that a new law be written to extend many of mainland China’s security practices to Hong Kong, creating broad powers to quash unrest.

BEIJING — China officially has the broad power to quash unrest in Hong Kong, as the country’s legislature on Thursday nearly unanimously approved a plan to suppress subversion, secession, terrorism and seemingly any acts that might threaten national security in the semiautonomous city.

The question becomes, 'What will Trump actually do?'

For the sarcastically impaired the following is said in jest

Well, there's two ways he could likely go...

          1) He could do something on their behalf, whether via military action or simply releasing a Diss Track on Soundcloud. His detractors will then proceed to whine about American Imperialism, while his supporters will extol his attempts to stand up for Democracy in Hong Kong.

          2) He could decide to abstain from treating a portion of the world like it's a part of the USA's personal LARP-style game of Risk. If that happens, his critics will probably bellyache that he's capitulated to China and stands with oppression, while his fanboys will contend that he's trying not to cause World War 3 with unnecessary involvement in foreign affairs.

All in all, nothing will change; his opposition will still be foaming at the mouth, and his toadies will still have their lips stained orange from frequently kissing his backside.

There, I just saved Tweb from another Dumpster-Fire of a Trump Thread

I suspect that even your powers don't extend that far. Dumpster fire pretty much guaranteed.

I hope we'll give them asylum in the US.
