  • The New Segregation

I'm putting this in here because I only want feedback from believers.

Am I the only one that finds this absolutely insane? By this criteria, I am not a Christian.

There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

I agree that under this standard I am not a Christian and there is no way I can be saved.

I think it's an example of subordinating the Gospel to societal demands.

Absolutely. We (the postmodern church) are abdicating the gospel for whatever comes down the social pipeline.

It's time we got back to the gospel of Jesus Christ!

As Leonhard has ably pointed out, those people aren't actually preaching the gospel. They're bringing themselves under God's curse, sadly.

That doesn't give us a reason to not proclaim the Gospel. I personnally feel I am sadly lacking in doing this.

I think it is possible to charitably interpret the first quote as meaning 'You have to make following Jesus, not any aspect of your identity, including your race and your culture, your highest and defining identity.' Or, IOW, you can't be a follower of Jesus and at the same time have competing identities that command your loyalty above that of your loyalty to Christ.

Of course, that may not be what was meant.

The second quote is more problematic. 'Complicit' means involved in, so it goes way past what is true, except for a very few who actually were involved.

There is no basis in the Christian Tradition for insanity like that. That women is preaching heresy.

She may not be aware that not all white Christians come from the US. Is that other fellow prepared to blame Australians from (say) the 1860s for the murder of MLK ? The US seems to be unusually fool of lunatics.
