    Somewhere. Start somewhere.

Please list three of these hallmarks of white supremacy that you think antifa exhibits.

      • What "racist base" is this? Is there a racist base of supporters that supported the Floyd killing he was specifically sending that message to? I don't know one Trump supporter who justified the killing, do you? Again, you're using these vague nonsensical arguments. "Trump is dumb sometimes, but not other times. He's smart when he's using secret racist code to his racist supporters to antagonize blacks. Other times, he's just dumb." Okay, man, whatever.

          • Ah, and now the blatant ad hom, which means you got squat for a argument. What you're arguing is clearly absurd and you know it, so you throw out the ad hom. My job is done.

So going back to the original convo (which is off topic of the thread, but oh well), what are going to do if those campaign ads come out about Biden's speeches on segregation? Considering the left has zero principles and ignored the Tara scandal, I'm not sure they can ignore this. Biden said some pretty disparaging things about blacks and black communities. Harris was pretty tame in her attacks against Biden.

The GOP sold out every moral principle they ever stood on during the trump presidency. While I dont agree with much of the democratic platform, they do stand on their principles and they do stick to them. That means I know what they will fight for and what they wont. What I know about the GOP is that they will walk away from any principle of morality if Donald Trump decides he wants them to. And I will never support them again unless and until they find a backbone and a goal beyond keeping and abusing power.

Dems stand on zero principles. ZERO. You can't possibly with any honest conscience say they have principles comparing the standard they set for Christine Blasey Ford vs. Tara Reade. Even the MSM grappled with this dilemma for weeks after the revelation of the scandal spewed out. If you want to argue GOP has no principles, fine, and I have no care in the world whether you support them or not. But you're ridiculous if you think the Dems have principles after that whole charade. I guess we'll see how they deal with Biden's segregation speeches. I'm guessing not many black folks even know about those speeches. I admittedly didn't until recently.

Yeah, they have principles seanD. They believe in equal rights for everyone. They believe in helping the poor, respecting the environment, social responsibility. They believe in a womans right to decide her own fate wrt pregnancy, they believe in taming corporate greed, preventing the abuse of workers by corporations. They believe in the right to a basic standard of life for everyone, especially wrt healthcare and education. They fight for these goals and they mostly dont compromise on them.

Some of them I agree with, some of them I oppose, but these are the things they stand for in thick and thin and they dont waver much over time.

Republicans used to stand for things too. But what Trump has made clear is that given a choice between their principles and their power, they'll abandon their principles at the drop of a hat. Right now they are all in with Trump. No matter what he does. And Trump is a narcissistic sociopath who will let hundreds of thousands die just to be able to pretend ther is no danger from covid-19, to keep his numbers reekection on track. And the gop governors and mayors are willing to obscure and forbid a proper response to this virus to appease him.

The GOP represents the rich who steal and sue and abuse the people on whose backs they build their mansions and their wealth. The democrats represent the people and what is best for the country as best they understand it.

No. Dems have zero principles. They preach that stuff and beat everyone else over the head when its socially convenient or politically expedient, but like religious zealots, they don't practice what they preach. The virtue they spew out is but lip service for political gain or social status. They're phony racism advocates (in fact, I'm of the strong belief a lot of them are projecting racism). They're phony sexism advocates. They're phony climate change advocates. They're phony classism and greed advocates (many of them bathe in extreme wealth and excess). I can go on and on. They're hypocrites of the worst and most vile order because the morality they DON'T practice themselves is not even based on any religious dictate, but pure secularism, which is why much of it is so aberrant and downright loony.

I'm sure it's possible to find some individuals in any group who are hypocrites or fake. So I'm sure there's some dems who are. I also think politics in the US is very corrupt, so probably a lot of Dems in office are corrupt.

But, on the whole, with regard to the average dem inclined voter or activist, your claims strike me as false.
"I hate him passionately", he's "a demonic force" - Tucker Carlson, in private, on Donald Trump

No, it's that dumb. It's true that there are politicians in both parties that are more concerned with there positions in power than they are concerned about principle, it's just that the democrats are beholden to the people, Republicans are beholden to special interests, the wealthy, the corporations, such as the Health Insurance Industry over and above the people effected by those special interests. Republicans give big tax breaks to the wealthy and call it trickle down economics because they know that their dumbed down constituency is fooled by that. The dems didn't just preach about health care reform when passing Obamacare, they spent the better part of Obama first term fighting to pass it over republican obstruction and unwillingness to compromise in their bid to protect the profits of their special interest the Insurance industry. That wasn't the democrats just preaching stuff, it was hard work, and then the republicans came back under Trump and tried to wipe that out again. Thankfully there was still at that time a principled republican in the Senate who did a thumbs down and their diabolical plan to throw 20 million people of health care failed. Both sides practice what they preach sean, they have to if they want to stay in office, it's just that the constituency that the republican party is more worried about are the special interests that fill their pockets and finance their campaigns, not the dumbed down voters who fall for their rhetoric and vote against their own best interests.

Indeed. It is hard in a single post to address all the complexities. With power there is inevitably corruption. That is true of all of government, and not just in the US.

Here it's a matter of degree. Trump IS the embodiment of corruption. And during the campaign the gop recognized it and spoke out against it. But once he was elected, instead of restraining him and holding him accountable relative to their own words and campaign statements, they became his enablers, his minions. They abandoned not just a few of their principles to create a unified front, they abandoned nearly every basic principle on which this nation was founded for the sake of retaining power and currying Trump's favor.
