    Sheeeeesh!
Given the continued wide-spread false claims made by republicans on this board and in the media, maybe it is time you started making it clear where you stand and correcting them when they post. People are much more likely to listen to you than to those in the out group.

Starlight makes a claim, hundreds of thousands are dying in the US (which in a temporal sense is true), while mikesomething keeps posting that it's like the flu with no pushback.

Maybe, before shooting your mouth off like some little crazed Hitler, you could ask a few questions to see what's going on.

Wow, so you BLAST me, but you take what he said in the most charitable way possible....

He kinda slurred the "and dying" in with the "hundreds of thousands of Americans are dead....."

I was going with the 127,000 figure. We do NOT have "hundreds of thousands of Americans dead", nor do we have the MILLIONS that were originally projected.

But, hey, you managed to get in a few psychotic rants spewing forth judgment and condemnation. Good job!

Yawn. Your posts are as, if not worse than mine, when it comes to judgement and condemnation. My approach to trolls is to use the same things they use. However high-minded you see yourself, you're a troll, without irony.

Why do you keep confusing a projection with a point in time. Intervention slowed the crises. The crises isn't even remotely over, and to be frank, the way it's going those projections have plenty of time to occur. You'll be lucky if millions don't still succumb to the virus in the months and years ahead.

The hope remains that an antivirus, vaccine and/or treatment is found in time or that the curve remains flat enough to not overburden hospital systems. Hope is not lost, but complacency due to hope is not a solution.

Not here it isn't. Which just reflects, again, your lack of global insight into your far-right world view.

Yeah, I'll stay awake all night worrying to death about what some * from "out there" thinks about me.

Again, thanks for the laughs. You're hysterical.

*remember, you're the little know-it-all goofus who came rushing in here shooting off your mouth before you even know what was going on.

And you're the same far-right troll you've always been. No need to stay awake at night thinking about what most of the western world thinks of your nutter opinions I'm sure.

I'm glad though that something positive came out of the exchange, you seem to agree that the virus has so far resulted in the death of 128,000 in the US and shows no sign of getting better or magically disappearing? And, can I take it as agreed that this is likely to be an under-count, when looking at the significant increase in all-cause mortality over the past months? This is awaiting further official figures from epidemiologists once the virus has run its course (years from now if no treatment is found).

                  Sorry for derailing the thread.

Regarding Trump's blame for the current situation. I'd say a considerable amount of blame can be laid at his feet, from early failures acting to test in the community to identify spread to making baseless claims that it would magically disappear, the US acted much too late.

The problem however is much older than Trump, the republican party has spent decades undermining government, so its more of a failure of democracy than the resultant symptom which is the election of someone like Trump and a situation that could have been avoided with good governance. Blame the republican party even if Trump is a point of failure. Pretty much 'we told you so', but with mass death.

Prediction from MM, it's just a like the flu.

Prediction from Trump, it'll disappear. When he realised he couldn't beat reality with a confidence trick, 'if it's under 100,000 we've done a good job'.

Reality so far, over 128,000 (more than twice a severe flu season) and it's far from over.

CP's convinced he need not care what anyone else in the world thinks. He applies huge doses of willful ignorance in almost every situation. Firstly any opinions from anyone outside the US about anything he dismisses wholesale as not mattering. Then, he dismisses any opinions of anyone inside America who can be labelled "liberal" in any way, shape, or form. Doing this stops him from having to think about things or from having his ideas, (im)morality, or worldview challenged in any way.
"I hate him passionately", he's "a demonic force" - Tucker Carlson, in private, on Donald Trump
"Every line of serious work that I have written since 1936 has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and for democratic socialism" - George Orwell
"[Capitalism] as it exists today is, in my opinion, the real source of evils. I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy" - Albert Einstein

MM is not one to ever admit or acknowledge he was dead wrong, even when the opinions and misinformation he embraces has been the cause of hundreds of thousands of deaths. And CP is functionally his cheerleader. He pretends not to necessarily agree with him, but always encourages him in his proclamations of misinformation.
